Just walked around the property to see what I could find...

Texas Dandelion

Scarlet Gaura

Pipevine swallowtail caterpillar

Coreopsis

Texas Bluebonnet

One of the flowers I planted in the flower bed last year and it survived the winter, oh so pretty!!

Lantana in one of my hanging baskets.

Aster family

Blooms on a China berry tree. It is an invasive species and I promised a friend I would cut it down and I still haven't, oops! I didn't plant it, it seems to come up from seed.

Blooms on a Mustang grape vine...

Spiderwort

Never ceases to amaze me what I find on my walks!

Sweet Surprise

Last Fall I put up two bluebird houses and hoped the bluebirds would use them...

Today I was fix'in to leave the property when I spotted a bluebird fly to one of the houses! Oh wow!! I was tickled when another bluebird came out of the bluebird house. I hope they decide to raise their young there, that would be so cool. I don't think they have any young yet as this the first time I've seen them near the bluebird house. I will be watching.

Red Roses...

I'm not a rose person but my husband and son like them. So I plant them and water them and that is about it. Normally my roses look pretty sorry, I suppose I should pamper them but I don't. This year my roses bushes have flourished and they are gorgeous!

Just a few photos from my day....

I sat and watched this butterfly feeding on the phlox blooms. No camera in hand, just watching. Then I saw that it was going from one clump of blooms to the next so I grabbed the camera and took a few photos...

Evening Light...

Evening light is not one of my favorite photo times. They call it the golden hour but to me it just frustrates me...Tonight I decided I need to practice more and take photos during the golden hour...I put the 85mm lens on the camera and went for a walk with Jenny...

Hog trouble, Uh Oh!!

There are times in your life where you run head on into things and you just have to say "OH SHIT!"...I smelled the Feral hog and then saw it running straight for me, uh oh!! Jenny saw it and took off away from it, thank you Jenny!! Sigh. It stopped and we stared at each other....hmmm? After taking a few photos I decided I needed to take action and yelled...it ran at me some more, yikes!! I yelled and waved my arms this time and it took off away from me (Whew) and then Jenny decided she'd chase it...Argh!! They ran circles in the brush and I finally got Jenny to come back to me and we left...With no trees to climb and Jenny being an idiot I didn't want to push my luck...I hate Feral Hogs!

It was a beautiful evening and I think my evening photos are improving!!

Oh so pretty...

I love Texas and I absolutely love Spring time in Texas...These photos were all taken within 100 ft of our well house at the property. I went down to check on things, with no intentions of taking photos. I couldn't help myself it was so pretty...

So glad to see the Red clover seed we put in two years ago has been going to seed and coming back. It is good forage for the deer and livestock.
