Life is Good at the Beach...

~

Another challenge at JessicaSprague.com...Didn't know if I was going to have time to do the challenge today which was Black/White (or neutral color) with 1 colored item...I thought about what I could do all day but when I sat down tonight I didn't have a clue...I used a free kit that Jessica Sprague gave away a while ago called "ThankyaKindly" and a Word art brush by KPertiet and it all kind of fell into place...I liked it!
I also received an email from Jodie with Jodie McNally Designs and I won her get inspired Challenge on her blog with my patriotic ribbon wind sock...SWEET!! So I'll get to do some shopping at her store at Oscraps.com...I also see Oscraps has a bunch of freebies for customer appreciation while they got things straightened out with their server, which I thought was nice, thank you ladies!
I have run out of time tonight so no new photos...I did see a snake in the flower bed tonight but no photos...it was not a dangerous snake and I spent a good amount of time looking for it to get a photo but just couldn't find it, sigh!! I also watched some storms build up to the North of us. They were headed our way when they fizzled out. We did get one or two sprinkles of rain, sigh! We really need some rain :o(
A good friend (Shirley) lost her Mother this week and I would like y'all to keep Ms. Shirley and her family in your prayers while they get through this difficult time...Love you Shirley and big HUGs coming your way!
We have a busy weekend ahead but I hope to get the rest of the Father's Day photos posted...

Imagination........

~~~
Today over at JessicaSprague.com they had another challenge...This time they posted movie posters and we were to pick one that inspired us and do one of our own...I picked the movie poster from "RainMan" and above is what I created using the "RainMan" poster as a template....I remember Michael's "Karate Kid" photo from our trip to Michigan last September...of course Michael was just exploring the lake and making hand gestures as he has never watched "Karate Kid" but I thought it was an excellent photo for a "movie" poster...
There is also another freebie today so if your interested go check it out...
~
Today Michael and I went to the new Transformer movie (Revenge of the fallen)...It was action packed and Michael sat on the edge of his seat for most of it...I was on Brain overload...during the fight scenes you couldn't tell the good transformer from the bad transformer or maybe it was just my old brain couldn't handle it on the big screen...I actually can't wait for the movie to come out on DVD as I think it will be better on a smaller screen...I'm not going to give the movie away but Michael was pretty upset when someone died, not happy at all....But it all worked out in the end and of course there was a hint of another movie to be, lol....and why not?
~~~
Stay tuned as (hopefully) tomorrow I can put some more photos from our Fathers day on here...It's hard to believe it's June and the 'Blast furnace' is here...my outside thermometer (which is in the shade) showed a temperature of 110 F. Yikes!! A tad bit warm...Mother Wren is still sitting on her eggs and hopefully they survive this heat...No snakes spotted up here at the house yet...We got rid of two roosters the other day...So (I think) we have 4 hens and 1 rooster...and I am so thankful for the A/C unit :o) Gotta love South Texas in the Summer-time!

Fathers on Fathers Day

My Husband decided to cook a Brisket on Fathers Day and invited most of his family over for dinner...
I decided to take photos of all the Fathers/Dads that were in the house Sunday....

Ray and his first Fathers day with Malachi...
Peter, my brother in law, was here but I didn't get a photo, oops!!
We had a house full of Dads and it was kind of nice...
Thanks everyone for coming over...
More photos to come from Sunday...as I had a willing photo subject in our niece Cheyanne
and Malachi, Erica and Ray came over later in the evening for a visit....

Why did the snake cross the road?

So my husband could try to run it over....
No Not really...Fred stopped and I got a photo of this Texas Rat Snake the other evening...it was in the driveway! I didn't get to close as it was watching me and even though it is harmless it can still strike and I really didn't want my husband and son to see me pee my pants, lol....

He was pretty long and just laying in the driveway...

He looks like he could use something to eat too as you can tell he hasn't eaten in awhile...

I just hope he stays out in the pasture and away from Momma Wren and the eggs here at the house...I took these photos Friday evening and I haven't seen him around the house so hopefully he moved away to greener pastures because there sure aren't any around here...

Fly boy at Splashway

It's a good thing Michael can't read...as he'd have a fit if he saw I called him "Fly boy"...he likes "Shark boy" better but I think he looks like fly boy!!
I was bored at Splashway last week...Michael was crabbing around in the kids area and I was trying to read but kept getting distracted...So I picked up the camera...
Ray....he's the Main Man at Splashway!! :o)
I was really bored and decided why NOT take a photo of the palm tree and sky!!

It's.....

a crab...No wait...it's....

a Stingray....no wait....it's....

FLY BOY!!!

Whooshing down a slide...Fly Boy!!
4 hours at Splashway and he had a blast...I got sunburned and a few photos!!

Some Digi goodness...

~
Over at http://www.jessicasprague.com/ they are having a birthday party and giving away some digi freebies and having contests too...I'm not really looking to get anything, well that is except for the freebies, because who doesn't like freebies...But I did want to try my hand at her challenge just for the fun of it...and above is what I came up with...Plain and Simple but I like it!

Today I had planned on going to town...working out, getting a few groceries and coming home...Ms. Helen had other plans...She was taking Ashley bowling and wanted Michael to come along...We had lunch with Helen and Ashley and then I said Adios to my son and away I went...I enjoyed myself...got my groceries and a bit more, ugh! Then I came home...cleaned and straightened the house and before I knew it the afternoon was almost gone...So I decided to try my hand at the Birthday freebie Jessica Sprague had and the challenge...Before I knew it time was up...ugh!! I really need to find more time somewhere as it just wasn't enough...lol...Thank you Helen I enjoyed the quiet time...Michael had a blast too...It was his first time bowling and he got a 90...grrr....he bowls better than his Mom...Yikes!! I wonder if they'll let me use the bumpers on the gutters?????? I sometimes think kids have it to easy (grin)...way too easy!!

Tomorrow we are off to the movie theater to watch Transformers...YEA!! Michael has been waiting and waiting for this movie to come out...Just maybe I'll find some more time tomorrow afternoon....just maybe :o)

Oh and I saw the cutest little baby fawn in the driveway this afternoon...and wouldn't you know it I didn't have the camera on me, ARGH!!!

Uh Oh!

I gotta phone call tonight and a certain somebody wanted to know when I was going to blog...Yikes...has it been almost a week...How time flies..........

Goodness knows I have a ton of photos from the past few days...Last night I got the photos uploaded to the Hard Drives...But got sleepy before I could do any resizing...Tonight I've managed to finish up one set of photos and it's already late...Sheesh where does the time go......Zoom Zoom!
Michael got some sidewalk chalk from his meal at Jack in the Box last week...and of course we had to try it out...

Mommy...

Mommy & Me....

Mommy, Me & Daddy....

Mommy has curly hair, Daddy has a HUGE LONG BIG TOE!! LOL...

Working on some journaling...

Figuring out how to spell a word...Mmmmom?

Family :o)

Just love those blue knees!!
Stay tuned as (hopefully) time permits this week I'll get my photos posted and get back in the Blog of things...
I've had so many ideas I want to do but lately I just don't have the time...Jen at Jencropable.com has been working on some templates lately and has a few freebies...so hop on over and check out her blog...
I've been working with Michael on his schoolwork for first grade...writing and reading...He's doing really well and every day he amazes me with the new words he can read...I know it's summer but I want to keep his little brain wheels spinning and make sure he is ready for school in August...
We've been going to Jack in the Box a lot, probably too much, for lunch, ugh!! I love their #9 and Michael loves their curly fries and chicken...plus they've got some great kids meal toys...I love the toys that require the kids to think, use their imaginations and artistic abilities...too sweet!
Splashway water park has been visited frequently by us too...Michael loves the water park but hates the drive so we've been listening to Audio books on the drive...I'm still heading over to the Gym as much as possible...I am just stunned as I really thought things would slow down this summer and it's been busier...Ekkkk
