Goliad Texas annual Christmas Parade

A yearly tradition for us...attending the Goliad Christmas parade!

Waiting for the parade to begin...

As always it was a beautiful parade, the stores were open, the vendors were set up on the court house lawn...very festive and lots of fun and food too!
I took a lot of photos but it's late...so stay tuned for more soon!

Dew drops in the morning...

We had a heavy fog this morning and when the sun broke through the spider webs were gorgeous with the dew drops dripping from them...

I used my Macro lens and my new camera, Canon Rebel T2i EOS 550D.

My Rebel Xti has a few problems and needs to be sent in to be cleaned and fixed and I just couldn't go without a camera...I can not even imagine the withdrawal symptoms, lol. So bare with me as I learn this new one...so far I'm loving it!

It's December...

I redid Michael's Calender...

so I guess this means it is December and Christmas is not too far off...am I ready? Not even close but I'm working on it :o)

Michael and I have been having fun with Frosty...

He sings and dances and is just too darn adorable. Fred even smiles when Frosty is twirling and doing his thing :o)
When there is a young one in the house the spirit of Christmas is bright and shining!

Michael is ready for Christmas, he had a little chat with Santa today!

Michael is not fond of Santa and request that no photos be taken when he talks to Santa but he lets me take photos before and after with the decorations!

(Actually I won't pay for their photos and they won't let me use my camera.)

Deer in the Pasture...

I was waiting for a friend and her family today so I could take some family portraits...While I waited I attempted to get a decent photo of the deer in the pasture. They were pretty curious about what I was doing on their turf but just wouldn't come close enough for a decent photo! I love how they have their winter coats in now and how much darker they are than when they have on their summer coats!

I manged to get a photo of Grandpa and Michael.

Today was Dad's birthday and we visited him for a little bit before he headed back to Houston. He's still being treated at MD Anderson for his liver cancer. They've managed to stop the growth and we are all pretty happy about that...something to celebrate!

I was feeling a bit frustrated because my camera had a black spot on every photo no matter what lens I had on it and Michael was chattering away driving me batty...and here I am driving a lonely stretch of I-10 when I decided to pull out the camera and take photos of our drive through a bug splattered windshield...

Our Thanksgiving...

That is Michael and I...(Fred volunteered to stay home and care for the animals (thanks babe), he also went to his families Thanksgiving)...was spent in Sonora Texas. With my sister oh I mean friend Dawn and Family. Dawn and I are not related by blood but we feel like sisters and love spending time together.

Before Dinner was ready and while waiting for the rest of Dawn's family to arrive we took Michael, Trey and Dacey over to the park. It was really, really cold as a cold front had come in earlier...Now and then I need a reminder as to why I decided to live in South Texas (it's warmer), Brrrrrr....Even though it was bitterly cold the kids had a blast playing together!

I asked Michael if he would take a photo of Dawn and I...you know, our supposedly bi-annual photo but this year we've managed 3 of them...So thankful we've managed to get together 3 times this year! We are already starting plans for our next visit :o)

I missed Fred but so glad he didn't mind me taking a trip during Thanksgiving. I love to travel and it's been an adjustment only being able to travel during Michael's school holidays! I feel so blessed and am always thankful for all the people in my life!
