June 11 2010 Our Day in Photos

I let Lydia in for a bit in the morning...I needed some entertainment...she's growing up and isn't that cute itty bitty kitten anymore...she's a holy terror and has learned it's fun to climb, ugh!

Lori called and her and the boys came over...

Did we have a blast...welcome to Wendy's summer camp, lol.

I have a LARGE roll of brown paper and love it. Today Lori helped me get it out and we cut off a HUGE piece for the boys to color on...they had soo much fun! Beats trying to color with chalk outside on a Hot Hot sidewalk in 95 degree weather!

~

Then I got some old sheets out and helped the boys to build a fort around and on Michael's bunk bed...it was pretty cool and they loved it! Yes, Lori thinks I'm crazy...he he he...But the boys had fun and that's what counts!
~

After that we moved out to the Stock tank for some water fun!! It may be small but the boys don't care...It's WATER!! They played and Lori and I sat at the table drinking KoolAid and chatting, LMBO...We are country folk what can I say!

And here's Burt with one of his ladies...Burt is MEAN, MEAN, MEAN!
He got his spurs cut off a few weeks ago and it didn't faze him a bit, he's still mean. He went to attack Lori and I while we were sitting at the table and Jake interceded and kept Burt away from us...Yea Jake! Our mighty protector!! Go Away Burt...Go spend time with your Ladies, sigh!

The other night I was getting ready to mow and picked up a board and this is what I found...Too Cool!

She's a burrowing Wolf Spider and you can see her babies on her back. The White egg sack is up in the corner...If you click on the photo you can get a better look...Love all 6 of her eyes...ewww so creepy! But she's harmless so I left her alone to carry on with her family :o)

Lydia's antics

I'm sitting here waiting on our Bug Guy to show up and decided to let Lydia in to play...She's so darn entertaining! I then decided I would try to get photos of her antics. Below is a slideshow of the photos, she doesn't stay still very long, ugh!

At first KitCat (our housecat) did not like her but now they are best buddies. They love to rough house and beat each other up...

Every 5 to 6 weeks...

My Farrier, Ray!

He heard the camera snap and asked if I was taking photos of his rear, of course he said it in different terms, but I can't post it here. Of course I am Ray, it's your best side (just kidding)...

So he moved...

And I got a different view point!
I've known Ray for 10 years, sheesh ever since I moved down here. He's a good Old boy and I love to listen to his stories...Hopefully one of these days I'll get a photo of his face...he's quite the character! Julie loves him and they work well together...

Simple Pleasures...

This past weekend in a digi layout...

This past weekend we did the Oilmen’s fishing
tournament. We’ve done this tournament for the
past 3 years. Never caught a fish but we’ve always
enjoyed ourselves. This year we went to
PowderHorn Lake near Indianola. It was beautiful
and a great place to fish and Kayak. It was fairly
calm when we arrived and we did a bit of exploring
and watching the waters to see what was out there.
At one point Fred said he caught an Octopus. I
wasn’t really paying attention and said “REALLY?”
That is cool. I hurried up and grabbed the camera
when Fred started laughing, ugh! He had caught a stick!
Smart Aleck! We had a red-wing blackbird serenade us.
He drove Fred crazy but I thought he was gorgeous.
On the way back we passed a Helicopter that was
a Vietnam war memorial. Too cool. Then on Friday
night and Saturday night we headed on over to
Breckenridge Park at Lake Texana for door
prizes, food and time with good friends.

Port A ~ Mustang Island Beach

Here are a few of my favorite photos from the beach last week...

(Photos below were taken with the Rebel Xti 10-22mm lens. Yes I took the Rebel but only took it out of the truck for a few minutes and put it right back. Sand and Cameras don't mix too well and I do NOT want to mess up my Rebel, ekk)

This was later in the afternoon after the skies cleared up and the sun came out...isn't it gorgeous? This is one of my favorite beaches in our area and that is the Gulf of Mexico your looking at...

I did try to show the boys how to use their boogie boards but it didn't go too well, (chuckling)...I'm too darn old and my bones didn't want to work like they used too...Hopefully they'll figure it out on their own. L.J. was trying and I think he'll get the hang of it before too long.

Lori said she couldn't ever remember having this much fun at the beach! Thank goodness for my Grandmother, Vivian, and Aunt Debbie for teaching me how to have fun at the beach...Love y'all ♥ Nothing like making memories to last a lifetime!

I even managed to catch a Blue Crab to show the boys!!

We even got to watch a Huey Helicopter fly over, Michael was so excited.

I've never seen a crab like this one...I did a search on the internet and this is what I came up with lady crab, calico crab or ocellated crab...Anyone know what it is?

Misc Photos and thoughts from my Sunday...

Mom see my Dahlia's are blooming...This is the best bloom yet but there are plenty more getting ready to bud. Now hopefully we won't get a storm that tears them up...I've also managed to keep the grasshoppers from eating them too.

Dawn I had to show you my new shoes...Michael picked them out and told me they were soo Cool! LMBO...

Okay so they make me look like I have clown shoes on but they are so comfortable...The price was right too...$19 at Academy. I looked for a 12 but no such luck so we can't be twins, darn it!!

Now that I've shared that news guess I'd best get busy on my Beach photos from last week and the fishing tournament photos from this weekend :o)
