In Memory of Claudette

At 5:45 am today I lost a good friend, I will miss her dearly. Claudette Billos fought a long hard battle against Colon cancer. She was a strong woman and I admired her for her deep love of her family. Her family meant the world to her. Even on her worst days she loved to have her grandchildren around her. I’ll miss her laugh and our long chats. I feel that the good Lord brought us together and I truly enjoyed being with Claudette. She taught me so much. She will always have a special place in my heart. May you rest in Peace Claudette, I love you!!

Weds. Nature photos

Yep Folks it's Wednesday and time for my nature photos...
I took my camera with us this morning and on the way home decided to take a photo of the low-water crossing to do comparison photos of the Flooding last year (2007) in July from what the bridge normally looks like on a dry day....

Not really a nature shot but we have electricity on the Property!! YEA...one small step at a time...next comes the water well, Yippee!

This is a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher. They used to be plentiful down here but in the past few years there aren't to many. I spotted one last week at the house but was unable to get a photo...But today I had one sitting on the fence at the property. Luckily the truck didn't scare him and I was able to get some decent shots. A truly beautiful bird.

A yellow mini-rose from my garden!

Momma Cardinal in the grass and below in a tree.

A photo of our roadside wildflowers.

That's it for now folks...stay tuned for more and I hope you enjoyed the photos!

Thank you Helen!!

My dear friend, Helen, saw the photo of Fred and I from Easter and loved it.
She did a digi layout tonight for Me and I love it!!
Thank you Helen it is absolutely gorgeous!!
I know it comes from your heart and means the world to me!!

You can go the Helens blog here and check out her beautiful photos and layouts. There is also a link to her blog on my side bar!!

A walk on the wildside...

Jake and I went for a walk this evening and here are some photos...

You know how you take a photo every once in awhile and it just hits a spot in your heart...This one did it for me..."THIS IS JAKE"! This is how Jake looks to me...he's alert, perky and has bounce and this photo in my eyes is Jake to a "T". Just look at that face! Isn't he beautiful!

Cut Leaf Daisy

Here you go...couldn't find it in the books...it might be Heartwing sorrel but don't quote me on that....Anyone have any ideas?

Another Cut Leaf Daisy

The Hummers are back...I was dive bombed this weekend as their feeder was empty...This is a Berylline Hummingbird. Don't mind the background noise I need to move the feeder for photos and get a bit closer! But just think you snowbound yankees up North spring is on it's way...LOL...

This is either a ruby-throat or a black chinned hummingbird...I could not tell. Look at how tiny he is compared to the 'T' post...

This photo was in my slideshow from yesterday but I wanted to post it again and tell you it is a Buckeye....

This was also in the slideshow and it is Yellow Flax.

This I think is a butterfly plant....

No clue as to what this is...but I thought it was pretty and it is a wildflower.

Yes I've done this one before a couple of weeks ago, it is an Indian Paint Brush. Couldn't resist taking another photo...That is our walk this evening. Not to many new flowers and it was a bit chilly out...so a short walk!

Easter at the Ranch

Every year for Easter we go to Fred's parents ranch and eat BBQ and hunt Easter eggs...

A morning at the Property

This past Saturday we had help with our meter loop and weatherhead at the property...since we had so much help I took the camera and wandered around...After taking over 200 photos I decided to put it up on a slideshow...if you want to stop and take a slower look at the slide show clk on the pause button and then just click the right arrow to see the photos at your pace...
