Jen Maddocks designs...

I received a kit today and was just tickled...It's by Jen Maddocks and is called Beetles Bugs & Butterflies and can be found here at her store.

I went back to October 2009 for some of my favorite butterfly photos and I love what I came up with! Thank you Jen, beautiful kit.

I'm loving how these digi layouts turned out and I had a blast playing with all the digi goodies :o) I did adjust the Hue and Saturation on some of the papers to help blend in the colors...But that is what is fun about doing digital layouts you can play around until you get what you like! Hope y'all have a GREAT weekend!

It is NOT my Birthday but...

I needed an excuse to make myself a Yellow cake with Cream Cheese frosting so a Happy Birthday to me cake sounded good, lol...

It was delicious....

And then I got this in the mail from Mom!! Yea...it's a quilted wall hanging. While she was here we found patterns for several of these...Birthday, Easter, 4th of July, Christmas, Halloween, etc...I asked her if she'd make them for me and she's started, YeeHaw!! I love them!
Thank you MOM!!
I can hardly wait for the others...(hint, hint), lol...

Creativity...

Michael was supposed to be eating breakfast but instead he was playing with his Lego game...When he showed me what he had made I was astounded...Wow!! A flower and Apple, that's pretty darn good!
I told him to leave them on the table and I'd take a photo later in the day. I took a photo and was taking care of the legos. As I was putting them back in the game box I noticed that both the flower and apple design were on the side of the box as examples, Argh!! And here I thought my son was really improving with his lego skills....gotta love him!
~
And then I remembered that I actually did have a creative family member...My sister, Karen.
For Christmas she made these for me!
Yes for little old me and I absolutely love them. Isn't she talented?
Thank you Karen you are very creative now come teach your nephew!
(I also need to work on my photo skills when it comes to taking photos of jewelry as this photo just doesn't do the bracelets justice...I also need to get a silver polishing cloth, ekk)

Born to be Wild...

Every time we bring a turtle home, that we find in the road, I hear the same thing…”Can we keep him Momma.” And every time I tell him the same thing “No Michael he was born to be Wild.” Wild Animals belong in the wild to be free and enjoy life. Hopefully one of these days he will understand. In the meantime we saved another turtle from getting run over.

This morning...

I was talking on the phone to a friend when I noticed this gorgeous Spinx moth...Awesome! I told her I had to go and went and got the camera...Thank goodness she's a good friend and understands when I see a photo op (chuckling, sorry Helen) I need to go and go now before it disappears!

Isn't it gorgeous...so glad it sat there and put up with me...

Then I did a quick walk around the yard before the dew dried up...Pepper family above and Cow Pen Daisy below...

A beautiful white rose in full bloom...

And then back to the Spinx moth, he had opened his wings to soak up the beautiful sunshine!
Looks like it's going to be a gorgeous day, hope it's a great day for everyone!

Fishing, bugs, bees and blooms...

I actually wanted to go Kayaking but I couldn't persuade anyone to go with me...We had received 3.5 inches of rain in two days...The creek is flowing but not flooding, perfect for Kayaking! I did manage to persuade Michael into going fishing with me...a few weeks ago I bought him a Junior fishing pole and reel...much better than the toddler pole and reel. I didn't tell him about it until today when I asked him if he wanted to go fishing and he said No..ekk...I said what if you had a new fishing pole...Oh did he jump! It's not top of the line but it is pretty good and he can cast well with it! So off we went...Fred wished us luck and told us if we get stuck we're walking...I do NOT get stuck :o) We made it to the creek no problems...

The dragonflies were so plentiful they were landing on us...I spotted this beaut on a weed in front of me...

The kids pool/fishing area...waters flowing fairly well.

Michael being patient and also watching for Spotted Gar...We saw a HUGE one, approx. 3ft...it would swim from the kids fishing area to the larger area and I now know why there are no bluegill or sunfish...

A catfish...(blue cat)
Michael got disgusted because he wasn't catching anything. He got a few bites but was unable to bring anything in...I told him I know there is fish in the kids pool watch me....and I managed to pull out this little blue cat...After that Michael said he wanted to go home, oops! So much for my fishing buddy....Daddy came and picked him up and I had a couple of hours of fishing to myself...yea!!

Then I saw this, ekk...tiny little water snake and it left me alone, thank goodness...
I caught 4 catfish but that was about it...I had fun watching the Gar swim back and forth...and listening to the birds. It was a gorgeous day!

Back Pasture full of White Prickly Poppies....

Mint family...beebalm.

Speaking of bees...They were all over the place!
