I've met a wonderful friend on here who also dabbles in photography and scrapbooking. Recently she celebrated her blogoversary and had made some fantastic free digital scrap items that she had designed...She had a contest and if you used her items you were entered in a drawing to win a gift certificate to designer digitals...well guess what I won, YEA!!

I think everyone was sleeping that week honestly as Jen had some wonderful freebies and I was the only one to use them or at least post what I had done!! I'm just tickled. Jen inspires me to improve my digi layouts and also to keep up with the folks at designer digitals too as there is a lot of neat items there...

Need some opinions...

I have made a doctors appt. for Michael for next week. His allergies have just gone above and beyond what benedryl can control this past week. I know Michael's doctor has suggested steroids and I am a bit leery on this....

What do y'all think?


We've tried Clariton, Zyrtec (sp.) - Benedryl seemed to work the best. Zyrtec didn't do a darn thing except make him extremely tired...Clariton helped a bit but not much...I'm at my wits end and poor Michael has had enough. He was the one who told me he wanted a shot he's tired of his nose running...you know a kid is desperate when he asks for a shot, ekkk....

But I'd really like to hear what y'all think?

The end of the beach...

A few years back Fred and I found out where the locals hang out...you have to drive all the way to the end of the beach where a jetty splits one beach from another. You need a 4-wheel drive vehicle or to be plumb crazy! Fred's truck has 4-wheel drive so I asked if we could go...we ended up pulling two vehicles out while we were coming and going...I wouldn't even try it in my truck! This part of the beach is NOT maintained and it's pretty rough.

I love it down there as the tourist don't know about it and it's where the surfers hang out and the waves are beautiful...plus lots of wildlife too!

One of several surfer dudes! I didn't want to bore you but I took quiet a few photos of them riding the waves...They knew I was taking photos and were showing off, which I thought was comical as the waves weren't very big to begin with...

I was trying to get the waves spraying the jetty behind Fred and Michael but some goofy lady kept sticking her head in my view finder, grrr....I finally caught this one...Then we asked the lady if there was a problem and she said her jack russel terrier had gone down in between the granite slabs that make up the jetty and she couldn't get him out, ekk....It seems he's done this before and likes to chase the rats that live down there, ewww....But after I had heard he does it all the time and she still hasn't thought of using a leash to keep him out of the crevices I didn't feel sorry for her and left her to hunt for her dog...sheesh!!

We really had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful day!!

Fred saw a sting ray or a manta ray...whatever it was jumped out of the gulf...Fred said it was pretty cool and I missed the whole thing, sigh!!

After he came up from his dunking he was chewing me out royally, UH OH!!

I finally finished going through the photos that Fred and I took Sunday. I'll post them tomorrow. I am on the laptop and it has Vista on it and I don't like Vista, lol...and it seems Vista doesn't like my blog either...it does weird things! I think we got some great photos! I won't be taking the Rebel Xti to the beach again though...The salt and sand takes it tole on cameras and lenses and it isn't pretty!
Because of an incident that happened at the beach Sunday I haven't been able to do much...
A few important facts that I have learned...
43 yr olds should not try to keep up with 5 yr olds at the beach nor should they act like 5 yr olds, lol...
I twisted my ankle while Michael and I were running around,at the time it didn't seem like a big deal. It hurt but not bad...Sunday night Fred asked me if I had looked at my ankle and I said NO and looked down...Sheesh...I had an elephant leg, Yikes....At the time it didn't hurt but it was really swollen...I immediately put it up and by Monday morning the swelling was down but then the pain started, grrr...So I've been behaving and laying in the recliner reading and watching TV...Ekk...I hate to say that but yes I've been watching TV for 2 days...I am hoping tomorrow it might be a bit better...So stay tuned and as soon as I can I'll post some great beach photos...

My Mothers Day Gifts...

Michael was so excited when I picked him up from school Friday...he had gifts for me!

But I wasn't to look at them as they were Mothers Day gifts...So he hid them when we got home...First thing when he woke up this morning he went and got them for me...

A teapot card...

with a very cute saying and a packet of tea...which I promptly brewed and drank...

And a Silhouette of him that they did in school...So SWEET and I loved it!!
The silhouette is poster size and I plan on getting it framed. Michael was just tickled with his gifts and also that I loved them!!
He also went shopping with Tia Diana yesterday and got me a musical card that sang "A Bushel and a Peck" and he pre-recorded "I love you" on it for me...too cute!! Gotta love my boy and big Kudo's to his teacher for helping him with his gifts!
A beautiful start to a great day!!
It was also our wedding anniversary...6 yrs...sheesh how time flies...Fred was pretty darn good today...no gifts (something we had agreed on) but he did take Michael and I to the beach, YEA!! We had a BLAST!! The water was warm and the day was gorgeous!! Fred hates the beach but he didn't grumble and took a lot of photos (500, ugh)...those will be coming soon...
I'm just tickled at how much fun we had at the beach and how well Fred behaved as both Michael and I know how much Daddy does NOT like the beach, lol...
To bad Mothers day only comes once a year because I could do this quiet often, lol...
