Pumpkins = Jack 'o' Lanterns

I had told Michael he had to wait for Daddy to get home before carving the pumpkins.
Today was the day!!
He was really excited but WAS NOT going to help!! No pumpkin gunk on our boys hands, LOL....

Kit Cat had to watch from the window...We were laughing as you could just see he was trying to figure out what we were doing!!

I have no clue but Michael wanted his photo taken with the lid from the Jack 'o' Lantern!!

Thank you DADDY!!

I am so glad my son and husband can show affection and are able to hug and laugh together!

Can you tell which Pumpkin I cut and which one Daddy cut??? LOL...Also I am really disappointed in my camera today...not sure what is going on but the photos are just coming out (excuse my language) really CRAPPY!!

All in All we had a GREAT day together and I know our son enjoyed himself immensely!! Seeing the sparkle in his eye, hearing his laughter, and recieving his hugs make it a perfect day!!

He WON!!

Thank you GRAMMIE!!
We had a costume contest at the library this morning. Michael won first place and everyone just thought he was too cute in his dragon costume!!
Now for the truth of the matter, only two little ones showed up in costume!! Ekkkk....I felt just awful for Ms. Clare the Librarian...She was so hoping more would show up but alas there were a lot of Halloween functions going on today...Michael had fun and received a gift certificate to a local Dept. store....We took him over to the store so he could pick out his surprise!! He went straight for the play mobil Police boat, lol....I had no doubts as to what he was going to get because he's been eye-balling it for weeks!! Just what we needed too, more toys!! LOL!! What is life if you can't enjoy it!!

Michael in Drag at the Library.

Ms. Claire parading the little ones around the library!

Michael, Ms. Claire and Alisha the pirate!!

Both Michael and Alisha were adorable. And it was too funny to watch the two together because Alisha was totally not liking Michael and his dragon costume and I thought she was going to take her sword and cut off the dragons tail. Michael was whacking everyone, including Alisha with his tail....We all had a good time and enjoyed watching Michael and Alisha together!!

Butterflies and Bugs

I was outside mowing the yard today and was side-tracked...There were butterflies fluttering all over the place and I couldn't resist going and getting the camera and taking photos. I put the first set of photos I took on my flickr site...But then I went out and tried to get better closeup shots...so these are basically the best photos I think I took today...and yes I did manage to finish mowing the yard, LOL...
~ Buckeye ~

~ Longtail ~

Can you see her above in the foliage? I didn't see her at first and then I saw her move...I love Praying Mantis's, I think they are so cool. This ones body wings looked just like a leaf with brown spots on it...SWEET!!

~ White-stripped Longtail ~

~ Skipper and a Blue ~

Bumble Bee flying from flower to flower, they were very busy today!

~ Bumble Bee BUTT ~

~ Bumble Bee covered in Pollen ~

~ Longtail ~

I try to research and find out the exact name of the butterflies and bugs. I am not always accurate or don't have time to do further research than the books I have...So some names may be incorrect. On some of them I just put the family names as there are several butterflies that belong to the same family (Longtails, skippers, blues, etc.) but I just don't have time to search through hundreds of photos to figure them out...so forgive me if some of them are miss-named!! I also noticed today that quiet a few of the butterflies had wings that were tore up and I am assuming that is from their long migrations...I'd be tore up too if I had to fly thousands of miles!! A friend in Colorado saw a lot of butterflies a couple of weeks ago and they seem to have moved down here...truly remarkable the way they understand and know to move South as Winter approaches...I think out of all the ones I saw today I like the buckeye the most. The colors and pattern on the buckeye were very eye-catching!! Hope you enjoyed some South Texas Butterflies!!

Update:

I received news this morning the Puppy is coming in Monday. I just told Michael and the first word out of his mouth was "YaaHoo", LOL....He's excited and we had quiet the discussion last night regarding names...I've been throwing names at Michael to see what he likes and he seems to be stuck on one name...But we shall see once we get to know the pup. Denise has been calling him Sam...
I called and he has a vet appt. Tuesday to get an identification micro-chip put in and some heartworm meds too. Collies can be sensitive to certain drugs so we have to be very careful what we can give him. Everyone at the vets office is excited to meet the new puppy! They all agree we made the right choice on a Collie.
I was laughing as they had dealt with Ebony for 4.5 yrs and I knew they were all a bit leary when she came in for her appts...and they were also worried regarding what could happen if Ebony had decided to take her aggression out on Michael. So they are all relieved and very enthusiastic regarding my decisions in the past couple of months.
Tomorrow we have a costume contest at the library. I know Michael will enjoy himself and maybe, just maybe he'll place with his dragon costume. It is hard to believe that Halloween is almost here and before too long Christmas! Ekkkk....
I love having Michael as he is starting to understand and his exuberance shows when it comes to Holidays. It rubs off of him on to me! I always thought I would have problems getting involved with Michael and the Holidays but can see it is not going to be a problem...I love seeing that sparkle and excitement in Michael's eyes, it makes my life worth while.

Pumpkin Patch Digi Layout

I downloaded a new digi kit (thank you Helen) and thought I'd play around with it tonight...this is what I came up with...

I really need to put more memory on this computer as the program I use is just overloading the memory and it takes me forever to place every single item on a layout. Possibly one reason I stick with paper scrapping, LOL...Most of the time I have enough memory in my brain...ha ha ha!! No smart comments either I can imagine what your thinking!!

Update

I received an email a little bit ago and the puppy isn't coming in tomorrow. Perhaps Monday! It was really hard to explain to Michael as he was excited but being young he'll get over it. Hopefully he'll be excited Monday and I'll have photos to share!

Pumpkin Patch with Friends

Today was story-time at the Library and then we went to the Pumpkin Patch. Michaels friend Kayden joined us with his Grandmother. The boys had a blast and Michael was a bit too rambucious...He would pick up a pumpkin and I would tell him to put it down...so he did, that is threw it down, ugh!! Thank goodness he didn't break any but we had a discussion about setting them down gently...The photos I took were terrible...the lighting wasn't too great and then the boys wouldn't stay still long enough, lol....GO GO GO!!!
Kayden found a nice pumpkin!

Michael picking another pumpkin up...guess if it didn't feel right it wasn't the one he wanted...so Kerplunk it would go back in the pile, Ekkkk!!

Boys and a tree now just imagine what they can do with a HUGE old tree, LOL...

Michael playing Scarecrow!

UGH!! Michael being a real pain, standing on the pumpkins!!

YES!!!

The Puppy is coming, YES!! Barring any unforseen problems and if Denise is able to book him on a flight Friday! We will pick up our puppy at the Austin airport FRIDAY!!
I'm just tickled and can't wait for Michael to meet him. I told Michael that the puppy was going to fly down and we were going to pick him up at the airport and he said "Grammie too!!" LOL...I'm going to have some explaining to do when Grammie isn't there with the PUP but I think once Michael sees the puppy he'll forget about Grammie, atleast for the moment. If I have learned one thing in raising my son, toddlers do NOT forget anything!!
And for my other news....GRAMMIE is coming for a visit!! YES!! We so look forward to seeing her...It's good to see someone from my Family and to spend time with them. She'll be here for a week long visit...I'm sure after a week with a puppy and a toddler she'll be ready to go home!! I should have some GREAT photos coming soon!!

Michael walking to the playground, where he spent most of his time.

We told Bruno he had to go down the slide one last time, LOL...before he turned 18!

Come Eat!!

While we were at the park one of the girls that was in a playgroup Michael and I used to go too showed up with her sons...I asked if she would mind if I took photos and she said no problem...Michael enjoyed seeing and playing at the playground with Andrew (Leigh Ann's other son)!

Below is Leigh Ann and her son Austin...I thought it was a beautiful photo!!

We had a great time and Michael truly enjoyed playing with all the kids!! We are so proud of Bruno he is a terrific young man and so deserved to have a wonderful Birthday!
