Male hummingbirds...

I need to catch up with my photos on here but in the meantime...

It was almost dark when I finally got home this evening and I decided to grab the camera and capture the hummingbirds. I should have grabbed the tripod too, sigh!

The Hummers are starting to swarm and tonight it was mostly males battling over the feeders. This little guy was hiding in the flowers.

Captured this one feeding on the Aloe

And another feeding on the butterfly bush

I think they gave up fighting over the feeder and decided to hit the flowers

My favorite photo of the evening...

We've had hummingbirds all winter but the past few weeks we've seen more and more migrating through...Always fun to watch them.

Michael's spring break, March 10 - 15

I think Michael had fun over his Spring break. We only had a week but we managed to squeeze in a lot during the week...

He had his friends over for a few days, they rode bikes and went on adventures!

They played games...

They dug and played in the sand...

They played in the sand a lot...I think they would have stayed out there all day every day if I let them...

We went and looked at the stars and for a comet. We didn't see the comet but they had fun playing in the back of the truck in the dark. Boys are so easy to entertain!

And we should have got the erector set out a bit earlier as they really wanted to play with it but it was late, there is always next time. Michael had so much fun with his friends and we are so glad their spring break was at the same time and they were able to come over.

Michael did a little swimming in a cold cold pool, silly boy!

I made a cheesecake and it was oh so good. We ended up taking it over to a friends house and having dinner with them. Michael got to play with another friend.

Later in the week I was asked to be a judge for 4H at the local fair. I was honored to do the photography group and loved seeing all the up and coming talent out there.

Afterwards I walked around as they were judging the animals that day too. These turkeys were creeping Michael out.

A friends group of rabbits, not sure how she placed.

One of the many steers

This sight brought back memories for me, fooling around at the 4H pens. I enjoyed showing dairy cattle in my younger years but the stress was unbelievable.

My boy is growing up and trying to act oh so cool while walking the fair grounds.

I didn't make him any promises but told him we might come back for the carnival over the weekend.

One morning during the week I went outside and saw this...
It's a fog bow...I rubbed my eyes and did a double take. I'd never seen one before. I took photos but then googled it to see what I was actually looking at, too cool.

The chicks had their first adventure outside...

They were so cute...

Now they are teenagers and are outside permanently.

And of course I made time for my flower/nature photos. My Aloe plant started blooming!

It was a really nice week and so glad we had a break, we needed it.
