Birthday Boys...

Happy 1st Birthday J.J. and Malachi!

I think the boys had a good time. They're still a wee bit little and not quiet understanding what all the taadaa is about!

I took over 300 photos and I got some really good ones but I'm still a bit under the weather...Hopefully in the next few days I'll share some more with you!

Malachi and JJ's 1st Birthday Cakes

I finished the cakes tonight with a lot of help from Fred, thanks darl'in!

I've been sick all day and in bed. Still feel like crap, but I told Erica and Jeremy I'd make the boys their own personal cakes for their 1st Birthday party tomorrow...So glad Fred knows how to bake! He baked the cakes and I decorated them!

They're done and hopefully Mr. Michael will keep his fingers out of them! I also hope I'm better tomorrow to attend the party...I want photos!

The People - February 21 2010

When we got over to Dad's he was fix'in to drill some post holes so we went off to help...Well Fred helped, Michael drove the mule following behind and I walked here and there taking photos on a beautiful spring day!

I didn't realize Michael was holding Fred's hand until I saw the photo later, awwww so sweet!

Michael was taking his job seriously and was just too cute!

Grandpa was laughing at Michael...he's entertaining!

They were working hard...I was too :o)

I found a freshly dug den...The tracks were not really clear so I don't have a clue as to what animal dug it....armadillo? fox?

Daddy teaching Michael how to use the emergency brake...

Now for the rest of the story...Michael stopped the mule on a slight incline and hopped off...He walked down the incline to help Daddy and Grandpa...Then the mule started rolling, UH OH!! He ran back around the mule and I was right behind him...Michael jumped on it and pressed the brake while I pulled the emergency brake up...Poor thing was scared he didn't want to drive after that...he knew he messed up...But Daddy took him over and showed him how to set the emergency brake and take it off...We told him mistakes happen and that is how we learn...It's all good now!

All done and getting ready to head back to the Ranch house...

For a cool refreshing drink of water and some laughter!

Texas Wildflowers ~ February 21 2010

I managed to get quite a few wildflower photos this past Sunday and thought I'd show you what I found...Most of these were taken with the Macro lens...some I took with the 50 mm, just playing around! All these flowers were found in the river bottom near the San Antonio River in Goliad County Texas. Just to note most of these flowers are tiny, very tiny and I also found 98% of them in a 50 ft by 50 ft sq. area...I love to stay in one spot and see what I can find regarding photos...

The above bloom is actually a shrub. I searched on the internet as I thought it might be buckeye but that wasn't it...I need to look through my notes but in the mean time just enjoy the beauty!

Baby Blue eyes...these blooms are all over the place at the moment!

Above and Below Fendler's Bladderpod, other names are Bladderpod and Popweed. One of the first wildflowers to bloom and it is gorgeous!

Perhaps? Western Peppergrass.

Hmmmm I found just this one tiny bloom in the yard...it's not a wine cup...is it a crocus? It's been awhile since I've seen one...It wasn't in my wildflower books...Anyone have a clue?

Ten Petal Anemone...I took a photo of this one before but this time I zoomed in with the Macro...Sweet!

Hmmm need to get a better photo of the leaves as there are several possibilities this could be...still love it!

Above a close up of Phacelia and below is a photo of the whole plant. It is also known as Blue curls, spiderflower and wild Heliotrope.

Sow Thistle.

It is an introduced species from Europe and has become a troublesome "weed"...hmmm aren't most wildflowers considered weeds? The milky sap was used for eye ailments and skin eruptions....

Possibly a Pencil Flower...but not positive on that...

I couldn't miss this bit of bright red crawling in the greenery. She didn't cooperate very well and kept moving, moving, moving...

This one was so tiny....I loved how tiny and delicate it looked.

Ahh well he's not a flower but he was in the 50 ft area I was in and I thought he was kind of cute!

I've been spending sometime at the Dealership lately, a lot of time. I love the fact I can take the laptop and work on photos and scrapbooking while I'm waiting. Because I don't have internet there I get a lot done...But I'm so tired of going over there and hopefully I am done for awhile...A bit of advice if you are going to buy a truck do not get one with a sliding back window...they leak! We bought the truck during the drought so until it started raining last fall we had no idea...Today they replaced the whole back window so hopefully it's fixed...Below is what I accomplished today and yesterday I did photos which I will add here in a bit...Gotta make Mom happy :o)

Mommies crying...

Yes my Mother is crying and complaining...it's been a loong time since I posted anything, ekkk...So as most of us do we try to please our Mothers...Here's a few photos I took Saturday morning.

We've been having frosty-foggy mornings and I've noticed the dew drops on the roses leaves. I was finally able to break out the Macro lens and tripod and try for a few photos...

Then Sunday morning before heading over to Mom and Dads ranch I broke out the 50mm lens...I haven't used it in awhile and it was a bit dark and dreary out so I thought I'd play with it...
