Sitting in one spot for 20 minutes...

Today I sat in one spot at the property for 20 minutes with the 300mm lens attached to the camera and took photos of what I saw...I did have a purpose for sitting in one spot and it's explained with a photo below...

Field of Indian blankets!

Sprinkler going in the garden!

Bee Balm

Wet Green Tomato plants!

Oh the Indian blankets are so pretty...this is looking towards where the garden was last year.

Just because I can...

Busy Bee...Lots and Lots of Bees!

Wildflowers!

Peek a Boo I see you!

I forgot...

Another Busy Bee...

Butterfly!

Michael's pink butterfly (Moth)...I will always think of this as Michael's pink butterfly as he was so excited when he first saw one and thought it was a Pink Butterfly!

Mutant Indian Blanket...guess it just wanted to be different!

Beetle!

And this is why I was sitting in one spot...I was trying to get a photo of a painted bunting. It would come and it would go and it would come back but I was never able to get a decent photo. If I moved he'd fly off...so I sat and waited and this was the best shot I got!

Love the Polk a dot eyes...Fred loved this photo and I thought it was pretty cool too!

Sheesh....People STOP running over Snakes!!

I was coming home tonight from the property and when I got to the driveway there was a Texas Rat snake in the road. I think he'd already been hit once but I thought I'd get him out of the road, it was still alive. So I pulled in the driveway and went back to him and here comes a truck. I motioned for him to stop so I could get the snake out of the road and the idiot just drove over it...Oh I cussed up a storm, I was so mad!!! Why? This poor snake was just trying to get across the road. He wasn't hurting anything or anyone...He's harmless to humans, and loves mice, rats and vermin! Why kill it!

Poor thing was hurting...

I don't think it will survive but I moved it over to the ditch...

I felt so bad for it...there is just no reason for it to die! I just wish people would stop killing snakes when they are harmless it's senseless!

Ouch!

We found a Texas rat snake dead in the road this morning, such a shame. They're harmless, well to humans, not sure mice and rats think of them as harmless though...This one never had a chance.

It's the first snake I've seen this year, which is weird. I know they're out there but I just haven't seen any. It is hard to see the snakes on the road though but I also know people that purposely run them over too. I know most people would disagree with me but snakes are a good thing and if they aren't bothering you best to leave them alone. I'd rather have a snake running around then a plague of rats and mice, ewww...

15 Minute photo shoot at Lighthouse beach boardwalk...

After spending too much time at the auto dealership in Port Lavaca I decided to spend 15 minutes taking photos of whatever I could find on the coastal mudflats and then I had to head home to pick Michael up from school...Here's what I saw...

White Ibis

They eat crabs and crayfish

 American Avocet (breeding plumage)

American Avocet male and female (Breeding plumage). The male has the longest beak and the female has the most upturned beak.

A crab, there were a lot of crabs!

Not sure as I am clueless when it comes to shore/coastal birds...Perhaps a yellowlegs?

Oh Crabs they're fighting!

Snowy Egret

Bridge that runs over Lavaca Bay between Port Lavaca and Port Comfort...

Possibly another Yellowlegs?

Black-Bellied Plover?

White-wing dove

Wish I'd had more time and it wasn't the middle of the day but I still got some interesting photos and enjoyed the sea breeze!

Port Lavaca...

(Looking out towards the bay)

I had to run over to Port Lavaca today to the auto dealership, on my way home I made a quick stop at the Port Lavaca City Park and Beach. It's been a long day and I'm tired. I got some more photos but will share the rest soon!!

Today in the garden I picked zucchini and string beans, yummy!

It was a gorgeous day today, 80's and a nice cool breeze. I read today that it is fix'in to change and the hot weather is heading this way, ekk...I'm ready though, it is summer and expected!

Hope y'all have a great week!
