My Day...

Even though the heat index was 105+ I got a lot accomplished today. Dad has his game cameras up and hopefully we set them right. We should have some photos Sunday and maybe we'll see something interesting. Got the chicken coop fixed, moved, cleaned. Out of the 7 baby chicks...which are no longer babies...we have 3 hens and 4 roosters, grr. 2 roosters are going bye bye this weekend. I'm going to keep 2 of them for the time being. The new hens should start laying in Sept. - Oct. and if all the hens lay that is 7 eggs a day, ekk...If anyone needs eggs in a couple of months let me know. I was honestly hoping for more hens but with just 7 I won't have to build a new coop at the moment.
I took some photos but I'm going to wait to post them. Michael and I are raising caterpillars/butterflies. I'm not sure what they are but I've been taking photos of their progress and we have a couple of Chrysalis (cocoons) at the moment. I bought a special butterfly pen to raise them in and so far so good.
I watched the bucks out in the pasture tonight and they're antlers have grown. I just wish they'd come up when it was light enough for decent photos.
Tomorrow we are going to put a 20 ft culvert pipe in at the end of our driveway at the property. The one we had in there was concrete and it's caving in, not good! Soon we hope to start on the concrete for the bridge but we had to fix the driveway. Don't want a Cement truck falling through, ekk...That could be a little bit messy.
Looks like it is going to be a busy weekend and hopefully we can get a lot of work done in the morning before it gets hot.
Hope y'all have a Great Weekend!!

Are y'all ready for some FOOTBALL????

Fred is....

me not so much, I'm not a football fan...But Fred is and today he got his Dallas Cowboy vs. Houston tickets and he's ready to go. I'm excited for him. I'm glad he's going and I hope he enjoys himself and also that Dallas wins!! I'm sending the powershot with him and hope he gets some decent photos!

Visting Kelly and Kids in Shiner Texas

Today we went on a play-date over to Kelly's house in Shiner Texas...

The boys had a blast with the pool and water slide.

Thank you Kelly!

Then Kelly took me on a tour of the town. I've been through Shiner but never stopped...I loved it and want to go back.

I should have broke out the Wide Angle lens but it gives me an excuse to go back...
Kelly also took me through their park and it was gorgeous...a wee bit Hot today to let the kids out to play. We then went by the school and it was pretty neat, I liked it.
If you'd like to see the rest of the photos I posted on a set at Flickr

Vacation Bible Schools in July

July was a pretty busy month for us. Michael attended two different Vacation Bible Schools two weeks in a row...When I first told him about being invited to VBS he said NO NO NO...He heard the word SCHOOL and was like NO way!! We tried to explain to him that it was not like School but more like summer camp...he didn't fall for it! I finally told him Ashley was going with him and we kind of avoided the subject until the date...Then I just took him with Ashley...That was the first VBS, which was at Trinity Lutheran Church. He did okay the first day and had a melt down the second or third day, sigh! I sat with him for awhile and got him to calm down and was finally able to leave. When I picked him up he was fine, just tired. He really enjoyed himself and had fun. Not only was Ashley there but Colby and Zac were there too. His friends from our days with the Victoria Play Date group.

Trinity Lutheran's theme was "High Sea Adventure".

This past week we were invited to St. Marks Methodist VBS. Their theme was "Colors of Faith" and Michael loved it. Of course most of his friends from the Library group were there. Plus he rode in with Helen and kids every day then got to come home with them and play. He loved that.
It was a long two weeks for us but well worth it. I got some shredding done and Michael was able to learn about God and Jesus.
One of my fondest memories growing up was attending VBS during the summer. I'll never forget Mrs Minnie Walker and all the fun we had. I hope Michael also has these memories as he grows up. Thanks for the invites Kelly and Penny!

Weekend with the Grandbabies, JJ and Aubreigh.

Jeremy and Kathy took a little mini-vacation to San Antonio and we watched JJ and Aubreigh Thursday evening thru Sunday evening. Karolina and Alexandra went to visit their other Grandma.
We didn't get much sleep but had a blast and enjoyed spending time with the grandbabies.

Friday we went over to GreatGrandma Criste and GreatGrandpa Freds ranch to visit. Rubina (Andy's soon to be wife) and baby Rubin went with us. I was a wee bit busy so I gave Rubina a 2 minute course on the camera and let her take photos...She took the one above and I love it. Thanks Rubina. Michael was at Vacation Bible School.

Greatgrandma Cristi with Rubin, he's 3 months old. Sheesh how time flies.

JJ being a Ham!

I loved it when GreatGrandpa Fred got on the floor to play with the Grandbabies...too sweet! JJ loved it too!

sooo sweet...

Love the look Aubreigh is giving the boys...

Rubina with Rubin...
she is a fantastic Momma! She loves that boy with all her heart and it shows!

I had Aubreigh sitting on my lap and decided to do a little photo therapy! She's just too precious!

Grandpa getting some snuggle time with Aubreigh...it would have been nice if she would have been asleep but this photo was worth her being up and keeping us up.

I wanted to practice on my portraiture photography and what better way to do that then taking photos of the grandbabies.

Aubreigh out in the yard and then along comes Lydia...

Lydia was so good with Aubreigh, loved it.

And then it was JJ's turn...He was so much fun! Grandpa had him laughing and smiling...Love that smile!

I wanted photos of JJ on Michael's John Deere tractor but he liked the little bubble blowing lawn mower better.

He did NOT like the tractor at all...I tried!

JJ had always done this wrinkled up face and it's so darn cute and funny...He hadn't done it all weekend and I missed it. Then I caught him doing it and was laughing...I had to get a photo of it.

Sunday evening and Grandpa and Grandma were exhausted!!

Getting some last minute Hugs and Kisses....
