Fun Time with Friends!

They arrived and look at those smiles!!
Hmmm...think someone is a wee bit disgusted with me and the camera, lol...Love you too Dawn!!

The peanut gallery!
~
Tomorrow is another day and a whole different adventure!

San Antonio or Bust!!

We made it...Yea...But as you can see I had to make a lot of pit stops, lol. The peanut gallery was NOT happy!! We didn't even make it out of Goliad and I had to stop...The flowers at the rest stop there were absolutely gorgeous...I even managed to get Michael to pose for me!!

Hwy 119 and yep another stop...

I just couldn't help myself!

Aren't they gorgeous? The roadsides were just bursting with color. It's a good thing I was driving or I might of had a whole memory card full of flowers...But would that really be a bad thing?

Our room...The sitting room.

Kitchen and door leading into the bedroom...too cool.
~
Okay we are off for a walk around the hotel...Michael is getting antsy waiting on Dawn and Dacey...They're on their way, Yea!!
Later, Oh and Happy St. Patricks day!!
~
P.S. All photos are Straight out of the camera...not sure why but my power cord on the laptop isn't working so I'm working with limited power, ekk!!

Corpus Christi Botanical Garden

I found the botanical gardens last year after a friend (John) visited there and I love it. They have an orchid house, which I could stay in all day and snap photos...Because of such a hard winter here there weren't as many plants or blooms, but the ones they did have were gorgeous...and it was our first visit to the Butterfly house since they put it up and that was fantastic. Not too many butterflies but still neat...
Orchids

This one is my favorite!

Mom found this little guy hanging over our heads...
~
Then I made a beeline for the butterfly house...
They had Zebra butterflies...

Queen caterpillars....

and Monarch Butterflies.

And Michael...well he was completely and totally bored, sigh!
~
I then headed over to the rose garden...

Skipping around to the different flowers that were blooming...

Bottle Bush Bloom.

Yucca

Bunny

Amaryllis...
(Karen, Mom wanted you to see this one!)

Mom and Michael near the fish pond waiting on me, lol...

And the Koi in the fish pond...
It was windy but other than that a gorgeous day. We were up early and in Corpus by 9am. I heard a lot of groaning and moaning from the peanut gallery but it was worth it :o)

March 13 & 14 Flowers and a critter...

The wildflowers are absolutely gorgeous and every week there are more and more of them...I took these photos this past weekend some at the property and some at the house...Enjoy!

Phlox

Field of yellow...isn't it beautiful?

Texas Toadflax (snapdragon family)

Spiderwort

Indian Paint Brush amongst other wildflowers.

Texas Toadflax (snapdragon family), right now there are fields and fields of these...

Mustang grape vine.

White Prickly Poppy!

I found a bluebonnet in bloom on our property, yea!

Violet

Parsley or Carrot Family?

Box Turtle.
Fred was in the kitchen and saw this little guy trotting around the pasture. Michael and I looked him up and found out he was a box turtle and can live up to 50+ yrs, Wow! This little guy looks as though he has had a rough life, part of his shell is gone. Michael wanted to keep him but I explained to him that this little guy is happy where he is at, yes his shell is damaged but he's doing just fine on his own...

Mom got me this white rose...well actually Michael said he wanted a white rose. When I showed him the rose bush that Grandma bought him he said he'd prefer red, ugh!! Little Darl'in!

I saw one of my succulents was blooming...cool...I can't remember the name of it...Hen and chicks or something like that, lol...I hope to get a Macro shot of it soon!
~
Michael had a dentist appt. Monday in Corpus so we spent the day in Corpus. We went to the Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens and hopefully tomorrow/today (it's late Monday night/early Tuesday morning at the moment) I'll get those photos posted...Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your week!
