Be prepared there are a lot of photos!
We started our day at 6:30am, even though I told Michael we did NOT need to get up until 7am...ugh! After getting around and making sure everyone was fed we headed out. Michael had a day off from school and I told him I would take him to the U.S.S. Lexington (also known as the "Blue Ghost") in C.C.
Our visits always start with the guns out in front of the U.S.S. Lexington.

Our 2nd stop on our visits to the U.S.S. Lexington are the cockpits...
There are two of them and we go back and forth between them for at least 30 minutes...
Every time I see this photo I laugh, isn't he cute? He reminds of Snoopy playing fighter ace...so serious!
I finally talked him into going down into the crew quarters and engine room, Yeah...We've been going to the U.S.S. Lexington for 6 yrs and this is the first time I've been down in the belly of the ship. It was pretty cool. Michael even liked it although it took some persuading to get him to go, sigh! He just hates leaving the cockpits, ekkk.

We had a blast trying on hats and I had fun taking photos of Michael posing for me...They aren't the greatest as I didn't want to use the flash, it has a tendency to wash Michael out...

Okay so these birds were pretty much the only ones that would let me and a 6 yr old get close too, lol...I love their colors.

The BABY CHICKS!!
We are now the proud owners of 7 baby chicks...
The eggs were actually from our rooster Burt and his girls...There are more on the way too, ugh! Fred is home and plans on spending his weekend building another chicken coop as he is the one that wanted the chicks! Looks like I may be a chicken rancher, ekkk
I also get updates every 15 minutes as to what they are doing and Michael keeps going on and on about how cute they are...I remind him that they will grow up and some may be roosters like Burt so don't get attached. So now he's started naming them, ugh...So far we have Bob, Jill, Tia and he hasn't figured out the others ones yet...

Michael has been so excited all day...The U.S.S. Lexington, Baby Chicks and we also have a new family member and she arrived tonight...
Lydia is what we've decided to call her...Isn't she adorable?
She will be an outside kitty and keep Ralph company in his old age.
She's in a crate on our front porch and so far her and Ralph seem to be getting along great...Michael loves her to pieces but she is just a tad bit scared so we do have to watch those claws...
And that was our day in photos...We made it home just before the deluge of rain came and in approx. 2 hrs received 3.3 inches of rain, yea. We needed it and hopefully we'll get a little here and there in the next few days. Most of this soaked into the ground and there is hardly any flooding, yet...But you just never know...

There were a lot more roads flooded and yes I was an idiot and drove through them. I've never been in Victoria when the streets were flooded and I had a hard time getting around. Was a bit upset with my husband about even being out in this stuff. But we made it home safe and sound.
This is the corner of FM 236 and FM 622 if you look closely to the left and middle there is a dumpster floating near a culvert.
Yea the bridge held...or most of the dirt stayed in place. We'll have a few repairs before we put concrete down but not too bad...and just think days before this was a dry creek bed.
This is Coleto Creek...now a raging river and still going up! Not sure I want to go Kayaking anytime soon...

The dry creek bed in our driveway...when we left in the morning it was over the driveway...when we got home it was flowing back through the culvert...It just amazes me what rain can do...I'm thankful we were a bit dry and the ground was not saturated as it could have been a lot worse.
