Storm clouds...

We had a front move through right before I picked Michael up from school. As always the clouds are so ferocious looking...

I had heard there was a funnel cloud spotted between Victoria and Inez so I was a bit afraid we might be in for some rough weather but it wasn't too bad and we only got a 1/2 inch of rain.

~ Funny Talk ~

~

You say the funniest things...
Michael in regards to my new glasses
"You really look like a Grandma now Mom!"...
Gotta love my boy, sheesh!
~
I have glasses now for distance and I honestly didn't realize how bad my eye sight was, I can now read road signs, yeah!
Tonight Michael and I did some target practicing with his 22 and I shot twice and hit the bull eyes right in the center, yeehaw!! "Not bad for a Grandma eh Michael?" lol...after I made that comment he said enough and went in the house, oops!! Guess my son doesn't have a good sense of humor...I used to be a pretty good shot but in the past few years I haven't been that great. Nice to know that it was my eye sight all along. Just wait until his Dad gets home and I challenge him to some target shooting...(evil chuckle). I might just profit from what Fred doesn't know...

First of September and the Hummers are here...

~
(Immature male Ruby Throat)
I've been watching the hummingbirds the past couple of weeks. Each day more and more come to the feeders. We had a few stay over the summer but now the ones that headed North are coming back down...

Love seeing the Berryline Hummingbirds. They are bigger than the Ruby throats and I think much prettier too...

September 1 2010 ~ Bridge Update

The guys have been working hard and I was stunned when I went down this morning, WoW!

The concrete on the sides of the culvert had to be (more or less) put on by hand and then smoothed by hand. Literally they were slapping it on by hand, ekk. They did a wonderful job!

Hard to take a photo when your facing the rising sun...They are up bright and early to work before the heat gets bad. Fingers crossed the rain doesn't come in today...

Fix'in to pour another section...

Fred and I are so excited to see this bridge take shape...no more being rained or flooded out, yeah!
~
Stay tuned...I missed photos of yesterdays work and I got chewed out by the guys. They look forward to my photo sessions so I'll be going down there later this afternoon for more photos...They want their wives and girlfriends to see what what they do and to prove that yes they do work hard, I can vouch for it too :o) Looking good guys!

Michael's Surprise Birthday Party ~ August 21 2010

Helen talked me into having a Surprise Birthday party for Michael. She hosted it at her house and did most of the decorating and organizing! It was Great and (I think) had a Funtastic time! We pulled it off without Michael finding out too, which was cool.

We spent all morning preparing for the party...

Everyone waiting for Michael to arrive...

SURPRISE!!
He was too and scared...He tried to turn around and leave, lol.

Complaining to his friends about how they scared him!

Then the fun began...Water, Water Everywhere!

Armed and Dangerous...

Eating and Enjoying the Cake!

Opening Gifts...
He loved that part and so many army, plane, space ship and camo items, too cool!

The Pinata was a tank, sweet!

His "Cookie" Tank Cake!

President in 2012

~
Here we are, already discussing the future President of the United States , beginning with the Year 2012.
For those of you who would like THE VERY BEST choice for President, we have a solution: It is probably time we have a woman as President. One choice is a very special lady who has just about every answer to assist in helping us to solve our problems.
No, it's not Sarah Palin, it's . . .

MAXINE FOR PRESIDENT!

Very eloquently put..........don't you think?

~
Maxine on "Technology Revolution" "My idea of rebooting is kicking somebody in the butt twice."
~

Maxine on "Aging" "Take every birthday with a grain of salt. This works much better if the salt accompanies a Margarita."

"I'm telling you ... she's the perfect candidate."

"The only two things we do with greater frequency in middle age are urinate and attend funerals ."
~
"The trouble with bucket seats is that not everybody has the same size bucket."
~
"To err is human; to forgive, highly unlikely."
~
"Do you realize that in about forty years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos and pierced navels?"
(Now that's scary!)
~
"Money can't buy happiness--but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia."
~
"After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching somewhere...you may be dead."
