I'm feeling awful Lucky lately...

I want to thank two designers lately.
~
Danielle Young from Oscraps.com
and
Audrey Neal from DesignHouseDigital.com
~
I read their blogs regularly (use my google reader) and entered comments for a chance to win some of their digital designs. I do this as it's always nice to win but I seldom win...it's my life story sometimes, lol...But this week I've been pretty darn Lucky and I am tickled. Maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket?
I won:
The kit "The Lucky One" and Quick Pages from Danielle.

You can Check out Danielle's blog here and her store at Oscraps.com here.

And from Audrey Neal I won 8 items (Wow).

You can go to Audrey's blog here and her store at Design House Digital here...

Thank you Ladies you made my week!!
Now to stop taking photos and work with all my digital goodies and do some layouts!! Yea!

March 12 2010 ~ Wildflowers

I was tired and really didn't have time...But I made time and we (Mom, Michael and I) went on a Wildflower hunt...I drove into Cuero on 236 and then came out 183 towards Goliad and then turned on to 237...I was shocked as we really didn't see too many flowers...a few places here and there but not what I expected....But I'm not complaining because what we did find was beautiful....

Phlox...gorgeous!

A field of it on 236...

A ditch full of baby blue eyes and phlox on 236 right outside of Cuero. I could have spent an hour here clicking away...But Michael was bored and whinging...

At the rest stop on 183 coming out of Cuero headed towards Goliad we found the Blue Bonnets...The big bunches were on the other side of the fence but there were a few here and there around the rest area...I just love them, Beautiful!

Ahhh....I could take photos of blue bonnets all day long :o)
We've got blue bonnet plants on the property but they haven't bloomed yet...hopefully soon!
~
Tomorrow back to the property to work some more on the bridge...it's coming along...

Rodeo ~ Kinder and 1st Grade

We live in Texas and we are proud of it!
To help the children at school understand their State heritage they have a Rodeo for the Kinder and 1st Graders every year. Last year I made the mistake of not going, oops!! So this year Michael made sure that I went! I'm glad I did as I had a lot of fun and got some great photos!
YeeHaw!
They branded cattle...

Played Texas Bingo...

Heard Stories...

And even rode their horses!!

He rounds the barrel and races for the best time!

Here he comes!!

YeeHaw!

Posed for Photos!

and even some goofy photos, ekk!

Played Horseshoes...Can you tell he is taking this very seriously?

Potato races...

And the Grand Finale....
The kids had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed themselves thanks to all the GREAT teachers and parents who put this all together!

March 7 2010 ~ Wildflowers

While the guys were busy with the culvert/bridge I snuck off for 30 minutes to see what wildflowers I could find on the property...

Wine Cup

I had named this Bladderwort in an earlier post but now I'm not sure...If you have an idea of what it might be let me know.

Phlox

Leaf cutter ants hard at work after a long winter...

Mustard family possibly?

Dew Berry Blossom.

Spiderwort

The wildflower are definitely popping up...I've seen a lot of bluebonnet plants but no blooms as of yet...So glad we got plenty of rain the past few months as it looks like it's going to be an excellent year for wildflowers...Not to happy about having to mow the yard twice in the past week though, ugh! Cuts down on my nature walks :o)

2nd day of working on the Bridge

It was suppose to rain Sunday so we started early working on the bridge. Hoping to get as much done as we could before the rain hit...

Dad cutting out the end...

Fred was doing this side but had to run to the store so Frankie finished up.

Knock out the end.

A bit more cutting so Dad can move it with the backhoe.

Both ends are out...

Awww that boy sure does love his Grandpa!

I told the boys it's my new key chain, lol...Frankie made the comment that at least I'd stay home now as it wouldn't fit in my truck, smart aleck!

Laying it down, nice and easy!

Fred and Frankie (brothers) b.s. session.

And there she goes....rolling, rolling, rolling

Now comes the real work...filling in the dirt on the sides!

Grandpa with Trey...I love those smiles :o)

And Michael following Frankie who is going on walkabout...Ekkk...
~
We got more done than we thought and the rain held off until Monday morning, yea!! Next weekend we hope to do some more and then get quotes on the concrete work...I think I might just be seeing a house in our future!
