Easter Eggs, Catfish, Bass and Wildflowers...

That is what our day consisted of....Busy Busy Busy!
As always Michael is up at 7am on his days off and he plays video games or watches TV until I get up...which was at 7:30 am, ugh!! I miss the days of 9am or even 10am...
We decided to color eggs and I thought we did a pretty good job of it too.

This is really hard work and you have to concentrate...another words Momma threatened him and he'd better NOT make a mess, lol.

The finished product, all ready for Easter and Egg hunting!

~

Then Fred called and was finishing up for the day...I whined I wanted to go kayaking...He whined he didn't want to go, sigh! So we compromised...we went fishing instead...

Nice little catfish I caught...

and another nice little Bass I caught too...
I was having fun...caught a few sunfish too. Michael caught a little bluegill and Fred caught a catfish and a sunfish...I love it when I out fish my boys!

We headed home and I couldn't resist a few photos of the wildflowers down by the creek...

White Prickly Poppies.

All fishing photos were taken with the Powershot and by Fred...I am glad he took photos, wish he'd take more as he needs the practice. He always seems to come up with blurry photos or heads cut off...His excuse today is he was focusing on the fish, lol...We honestly had a good day...quality family time together outdoors in the wild blue yonder :o)

Challenge at Scrapping with Liz...

Click here to go to her website for a free template and to read what the challenge is about...Here's my take on it, thanks Liz.

Oh how I love Spring in South Texas. It looks as though God has dipped a paint brush on an artist pallet and painted the country side in colors.
After being in a drought for one and a half years and having few wildflowers this spring is absolutely wonderful. We have taken several road trips just to see the colors. I can not seem to get enough photos either. I feel so blessed to live in this area and to have such beautiful flowers to share.

U.S.S. Lexingtion and Corpus Christi

Michael had a dentist appt. in Corpus Christi this afternoon. I wanted to do something special with him in the morning to make up for the rough afternoon he was fix'in to have...After looking prices up on the internet I decided we could do the "Blue Ghost" (USS Lexington) aircraft carrier....Michael was so excited!

Fly over...

Guns....

Cockpit...I swear he'd spend his whole time in the cockpits!

Oh cool more guns Mom!

And another cockpit!

LOL...I stuck him in the Brig!

Up on the Flight Deck we ran here and we ran there...

It was a gorgeous day...Corpus Christi from the Lexington...
(and I see my horizon is crooked, ekk...)

Walking the plank...

Goodness more guns...and these move, ekk...

Ready, Aim, Fire........There goes the Bay Bridge!

Corpus Christi Beach...I prefer Mustang Island!

We stopped at a roadside park on the bay front. What is it about boys and throwing things in the water?

Sea Rocket, member of the mustard family.

Aster Family, loved the contrast of the blue sky, flowers and green.

Walking...and I'm sure he's looking for something to throw in the water :o)

Posing...

We had a great morning...Michael really enjoyed himself at the U.S.S. Lexington but we didn't get to stay for long. I did get us a family membership for the year so expect to see more photos of the "Blue Ghost." It didn't go well at the Dentist...What we assumed was in itty bitty cavity turned out worse...They had to do a pulpectomy and put a crown on one of his molars...Poor Michael was not happy and was hurting pretty bad. I was frustrated as he brushes, flosses and rinses his mouth twice a day and goes to the dentist every six months. How did they miss this and why did it get so bad...grrr. Guess it's the protective Mother coming out in me but I was NOT happy! Fred and I discussed it and we've decided to take him in every 3 months to get his teeth cleaned and checked. The insurance won't cover it but since Michael is all gun ho about becoming a fighter pilot he's got to have good teeth...

Sunday Photo Shoot in the Bluebonnets!

I asked Michael if I could take photos of him and Jake in the Bluebonnets down in the pasture Sunday evening...

Okay so someone was losing interest after the first five photos...

Jake is such a sweetheart.

Live Oak surrounded...

This way Mom...

I have this view from the house right now and I love it!

I love Spring!
We had a pretty good day. I took Michael and his friend, Ashley, to see the movie "How to train your dragon." It was pretty good and Michael and Ashley loved it. I was also going to go Kayaking this afternoon but the wind was pretty bad so we just hung out at Ashley's for a bit...Tomorrow we are headed to Corpus for a dentist appt...photography wise not sure what I'm going to do but I'm sure there will be photos and who knows Michael may even do another video for us, ha ha ha...
Y'all have a good week!
