KitCat

Lydia goes in and out of the house and it's effecting KitCat. He doesn't like it!
He is honestly scared to death to go outside during the day. He is always trying to escape at night out the door but not during the day...It's a Big Bright Scary World!

But with Lydia coming and going Kit wanted out, so I threw him out the door the other day...He hesitated but then went out gingerly into the yard...Yikes Chickens! A horse!! Ekk...I loved how the green of the bushes and grass high-lighted his eyes...But when I grabbed the camera he was hiding on the porch wanting back in...Brain overload I suppose.

Hello!
Then he saw Ralph (our barn/outside cat) and ran to greet him...Ralph tolerates Kit and that's about all...I'm sure he thinks Kit is spoiled, laying in the a/c while he, Ralph, swelters in the heat, lol...Kit loves everyone and thinks he should be loved back, lol...Hope he never meets a coyote!!
(Oh and he hasn't wanted back out since that day, Chickens can be pretty scary!)

It's Gone...

Sigh!
I'm going to miss it and it's shade!

Before...

After...
Things are a whole lot brighter now, yikes!

Bye Bye Ash tree...you won't be falling on the house now!

Franky putting it all in a pile to burn later on...

Yep, Hands in the face man, without a hand in his face, lol. He kept yelling at me NO PICTURES! NO PICTURES!! So glad his hands were busy. Thanks Franky for all that you do for me, I really appreciate it!
~
Thinking Michael can play with the stump and also thinking I might just plant an Oak Tree out in the pasture. A bit further away from the house and of course with a fence around it to keep the horse and cow from wrecking it...

Scrapping with Liz has another template and challenge this week. When I saw the free template I knew what photo I wanted to use...It just took me forever to figure out what title & quote, lol...But above is the finished product and I like it :o) A little bit of whimsical just for Michael, he loves to use his imagination!

Thanks Liz for the inspiration!

Spooky Moon...

Fred called me last night and asked if I had seen the moon, it was just coming up and it was Orange...Cool! I hung up the phone grabbed the camera and snap snap....It was pretty cool and I even captured the clouds floating by...

Crab and Birds...

We saw a lot of wildlife at the parks on Saturday, it was pretty neat.

This Blue Crab had a fish that was almost as big as him in his claw...We enjoyed watching him wandering around. When he spotted us he took off running for deeper water, Yikes! Sorry Mr. Crab we didn't want your fish!

A young or non-breeding Laughing Gull checking something out...

Sandpiper...and a very noisy one too...It didn't like me and let me know too!

Tern and a youngster...not sure if he was screaming at me or for Mom and Dad!

Curlews taking an afternoon break...

Wind Farm near Gregory

We pass this wind farm on our way home from Corpus and yesterday I was watching the storm clouds and the wind generators...I got an idea!

Michael honestly had no clue as to how large these wind generators were...why not see how close we can get...

So I turned down a dirt farm to market road and Taa Daa...we ended up at a construction site where they had just assembled a wind generator.

Seeing these strung across farm fields seems so futuristic to me and awe inspiring!

I noticed the American flag on the wind generator they had just assembled...God Bless America! It looked so tiny up there...

Michael was in awe...Mom those windmills are HUGE!! LOL...He now knows just how big they are, so glad we stopped!

Sunset Lake Park - Portland Texas

As we were leaving Indian Point I spotted some vehicles on a sandy strip of land and wondered, how did they get there? So we did some exploring in Portland and found another park, Sunset Lake Park. It was pretty cool and Michael and I will be going back to explore it some more.

Corpus Christi Bay

Looking South towards Corpus Christi!
We were hot and tired by this time, this is definitely a park we will be returning to for some more exploration!

Indian Point Park - Portland Texas

On our way home from the Lexington I always try to stop for a few photos and exploring at Indian Point. It was a gorgeous day.

Michael just sitting and checking things out...

There were thousands of Hermit crabs...We had a blast checking them out and playing with them. Michael kept moving them back to the water, and after he realized there were just too many, he gave up, lol.

Salt water needle fish...
The water was clear and we saw a lot of schools of tiny fish!

I loved the water flowing over this shell...
and I mistakenly thought it was the Texas state shell and it is not. It's a Welk but not the lightening welk, which is the Texas state shell...(sorry Lenore, I was wrong)

He loves exploring and I love it too!

Hey Mom what do you think of my crab stick? LOL...
He decided it was better to use the stick instead of his fingers to flip shells to see what was inside. Probably a good idea!

There's a story behind this photo...I took the first photo with no water on the shells and what did I see? molluscs breeding...yep they were having a good time! Then a wave came in and covered it up...the above photo, lol...thought it was more appropriate to post the photo above!

Run Forest Run...
We spotted him running down the road, yikes!

~
on to the next post...

Lunch...

Michael's favorite restaurant in Corpus...(me not soo much)

Checking out the Corpus Marina...

All boy...(thanks Leah :o)

Being silly...

And how old are you Michael? Six! No Mom I am SEVEN!

This mural is gorgeous and I've never attempted a photo of it!
It depicts the people of Texas through out the years. You can't see it but at the end it has Oil rigs and long horn cattle...There are some good things at Whataburger!

Another day at the USS Lexington...

We've definitely got our money's worth out of our membership to the Lady Lex...Michael loves going...

We also get free parking and upon getting out of the truck I noticed I could get a great photo of the lex as we were up on a bit of a hill...This is my favorite photo that I've taken of the Lady Lex in 10 yrs, lol...It was a gorgeous day too!

And of course we spend the majority of our time at the cockpits. This is Michael's favorite one. I was wondering around taking photos here and there and waiting on Michael.

I walked around behind the cockpit and saw this information plate...Hmmm Maybe I could do a search on Craigs list and get Michael his very own cockpit, LMBO...

I couldn't get him to go up on the flight deck or down to the engine room but I did manage to get him to check out the "fantail"...Contemplating? Nope he's looking for jellyfish, lol.

As we were leaving I kept taking photos...do you know what those pods are up there? I do, but I want to know if you know....I liked how busy this photo was...pods, guns, and planes, exactly what you expect to find on an Aircraft Carrier!
~
Now off for some lunch...
