Christmas with the Family

We had Christmas with Fred's family on Saturday, December 26 and as always lots of people and lots of fun....
I took over 200 +, got that narrowed down to 168...and then those narrowed down to 101 photos and they're all up on my Flickr site...It was really hard to choose just a few to post here on the blog but here are a few of my favorites or the ones that (to me) are memories in the making...

Grandpa with Raquel and Aubreigh....

Great Grandma with Aubreigh.

Oh these two boys are just too darn cute....Malachi and J.J., cousins!

Dad smiling and laughing!!

Mom and Dad enjoying Christmas with Family!!
~
The rest of the photos are up on my flickr site if you'd like to see them all....

Sew much Fun....

I've been experiencing some problems with my back and to ease the pain a bit I've been taking afternoon naps....The other day I awoke to Grammy and Michael sewing a quilting square...I couldn't not take a photo!

Michael loves to help!

Good Job y'all!

Then I went outside and saw this beautiful full moon...

Later I heard this is a "Blue Moon"...the second full moon for the month of December...sweet!

Playing with the camera and took a photo of our tree looking in through the front window....
~
I'm missing my camera and miss not taking photos so hopefully if time allows I'll be back in full photo mode soon!

La Mula

We borrowed my Father in laws 4 wheel drive mule for awhile and Mom and Michael practiced their driving skills the other day...

The sun was out and it was a bit chilly but still a beautiful day! Not sure Grandma trusts Michael's driving skills yet...

Ekkk watch out Grandma's behind the wheel now!

Off they go....

I know there is 150 acres to park the mule but when she parked it in the middle of the driveway I asked if that is where she had found it, lol...Another words please move it!! I think they had a good time and hopefully they both now know how to drive it!

Mooooooooo!

Michael and Mom went off on the 4 wheel drive Mule to practice their driving skills and while I was waiting I took photos of the cows, bull and Julie...

The bull is an idiot and he's getting a bit to rambunctious too...He was threatening me but I stood my ground, lol...right next to the bed of the pickup truck just in case he charged!

Feed Me! Please!

I call her the Afrikan cow,
she's gorgeous and not to be trifled with either...

I gave Julie some hay and amazingly she shared it with the cows!

Christmas 2009 at our house was Bright & Merry. Michael woke up to let Jake outside and upon seeing that Santa had arrived came running back into our bedroom whispering loudly to me that Santa had come! Daddy was trying to be tricky wrapping Michael’s BB gun in a printer box and putting my Kayak paddles in a gun case. He had us all laughing. Grammy had fun and finally received her Digital photo frame. We all did pretty well this year and it was a lot of fun playing with all of our items.

Christmas Day

It wasn't too long after we opened gifts that we all went outside to enjoy the beautiful day and of course all the goodies Michael received...
The next RobinHood perhaps?

He was loving his nerf bow!

Then finally later in the day the big gun came out (we had to wait for the batteries to charge), Michael could hardly wait for the BB gun!

Beautiful Blue Skies!

Grammy had to try it out!

Waiting patiently for Daddy to stop playing!

Hmmm did Daddy buy it for him or Michael?

Christmas Morning

Michael woke up and went to let Jake outside, I think he forgot it was Christmas morning until he entered the living room....He came running back in the bedroom whispering really LOUD Mom Santa came...I was laughing as I had heard him get up and was waiting for it to dawn on him what morning it was....He was still half asleep but so excited!

Checking out what was in his stocking...

Grammy and Michael with his nerf bow and arrow.

My sweet boy!

Santa Daddy passing out gifts.

Michael thought he got a printer and was a bit confused....

Until he opened the box and saw the bb gun. Daddy was being tricky this year with his gift wrapping.

Good Morning Grammy!

Fred with his new stocking!

Okay so I thought I got a gun, NOT! Fred had put the Kayak paddles he got me in a gun case, the little stinker! And here I thought I got my 410!!

Love the Christmas mess....to me it means FUN!

2 days to Christmas....

and Michael was outside playing in the sandbox!
He stayed in his pj's all day and this evening it was beautiful outside. He didn't understand why he couldn't play outside in his pj's and I didn't feel like arguing with him either so I let him go...He's on Christmas break I guess he's allowed to have a day off here and there.

Mom and I finished the Christmas baking today. Everything is pretty much done and we can hardly wait...Candle light service at Church tomorrow evening is what I look forward too...Celebrating Jesus birth!
Hope y'all are enjoying the Holidays!

Misc. Photos from Friday, December 18 2009

I feel like I've been neglecting my blog lately and I apologize. I've been getting December daily digital layouts posted but no photos of South Texas. Friday morning was our first day to see the Sun in 8 or 9 days...I can't remember but I knew it was a looong time :o) I was so excited I had to take some early morning photos while I waited for the sun to rise!

I stopped in the middle of the bridge on our road to get a photo of the creek in the early morning...it's always so calm and peaceful. Well almost always, that is if it's not flooded and we can drive across the bridge! It was going to be a beautiful morning!

There it is! It's just peeking up, our glorious SUN!! Oh it was beautiful and I was so excited. I think we forget how much we need sunshine until it disappears, sigh!

While driving home I came upon a herd of about 20 deer in the road. Before I could swing the camera up they scattered...This is one photo I managed of a doe squeezing under the fence, bye-bye!

Not sure if I mentioned the MUD!! After almost 2 inches of rain/drizzle and no sun for 8 days or more it was a muddy mess. Julie took advantage of it and had a Mud bath, ugh!! Anyone want a HUG? She was also soaking up the Suns rays, ahh it feels so good...

It was a beautiful morning and so glad I had time for a few photos. Grammy was arriving Sunday afternoon, Michael had a School Christmas party Friday afternoon so it was going to get busy...But it was all good!! Michael had a great last day of school, he's off for 2 weeks. We also went Friday afternoon/evening and saw the movie Avatar. It was Fantastic!! Michael said it was better than transformers and I think it was too!! Definitely one to go see again and again!
We spent Saturday getting the house ready for Grammy's visit and Sunday we picked her up at the airport!! It was soo good to see her and we are so glad she came! Today (Monday) we spent most of the day in town and (fingers crossed) have everything for Christmas. I definitely do NOT want to go back in the stores, it was sheer madness at 10am. It got worse as the day passed too...
I didn't take any photos today (Monday), ekk...But I have an idea for my December Daily Layout for Monday...it's just going to have to wait until Tuesday, lol...Grammy and Michael are going to make cookies Tuesday so I know I'll get some photos :o) of that little adventure!

Michael was just as excited about Grammy’s arrival as he is about Santa Claus. He even brought her some flowers. He was bursting at the seams waiting for her to come down the escalator. I made him sit and wait until she reached the bottom so he wouldn’t knock her down and when I told him to go he was off like a shot....It always warms my heart seeing them give and get their first hug upon arrival. Grammy is a very special person in our lives and we are always so happy to see her. We also stopped in LaVernia for Dinner and Grammy’s favorite Steak house before coming home.

Saturday I was busy cleaning all day but I finished wrapping all the gifts. I thought of the magi bringing gifts to baby Jesus when I looked at all the presents under the tree. I so love to give gifts!

Grandbabies

I had to go over to the dealership Thursday morning. I knew it was going to be a long wait, it always is. This time I thought why not take the laptop and work on some digital layouts while I wait...I had a blast! It was quiet and peaceful...well that is until the family of 4 came in to the waiting room, ekk...a 1 yr old and a 2 yr old and they were wide awake and going strong, Argh!

I was laughing at I did this layout. I had downloaded a free kit and knew it had pinks in it...I know it's the new thing but I'm just not fond of pink for Christmas. But when I was working on this photo of Aubreigh the other day I knew the pinks would work with it...Sigh!! Never say Never!

The above layout I used photos of J.J., Alexandra & Carolina when they were posing near the tree...It's really hard to get 3 little ones to look at the camera at the same time, very hard :o) I finally gave up and just started snapping away!

I was doing this layout after the little Monsters came into the Dealership waiting room and I had to unplug the laptop electrical cord. Which means my laptop dimmed and I could barely see what I was doing, lol...I could probably work on it some more but I liked it...
