Rocks, Rocks and More Rocks!!

Okay Yes I Am Excited...We had two more loads of Bullrock/gravel brought in today!! We are working on the swale hole now and seeing the dump truck full of rock was very exciting...They were able to get across the dry creek bed that we had worked on two weeks ago and now we can fix the swale hole! Once it is fixed we'll be able to drive our trucks to the back of the property where the creek is at, YES!! LOL I get excited about little things...but I see each little thing we work on one more thing going towards the day we'll have a house and be living on this property! With all the rain that we have had this year we have been unable to get through the swale hole with the trucks. It's just to wet and not drying up, we've had to use the tractor, walk or drive the 4X4 mule...The house won't be back there but the creek is and so are the FISH!! (grin)

Michael missed the first load of rock but was really excited when they came with the second load...Look Momma, Dump truck!! (over and over again)!! He's definitely loves heavy machinary!

Wow look at how it lifts and dumps all that rock!! That is just sooo COOL!! I honestly believe my son could watch that all day long and be HAPPY!!

Uh OH another Rock pile and I'm hoping he doesn't get upset this time when Daddy starts hauling it off....Ekkkk

Fred got one load of rock in the swale hole but had to leave...We were hoping two loads would do it but now we see we are going to need atleast 4 loads...So in two more weeks we will have 2 more loads brought out...Just praying we don't get any rain until we finish with it!!

Colleen this photo is for you...Is there something in the air or what...Michael has been playing with sticks all week...we don't have the apples to fling but he was flinging mud earlier in the week and today he was whacking trees with it...LOL....Maybe he'll be like Den Helen and practice martial arts...he sure seems to be concentrating, he's got that tongue working...

Fred is headed to Laredo for the week, so the rock pile will be there until next weekend. We were supposed to go to a barbeque and then a dance tonight but with Fred gone I honestly don't want to go by myself....So another evening at home but I'm sure Michael and I will find something to get into....(grin)

It's AMAZING

It's amazing how you can go from not having a thing planned to being so darn busy you don't even have time to do your blog or even better read your friends blogs, sigh!!

I received a call from a friend the other night (Weds) that her son was getting married the next day and they were having a reception at a local restaurant after the ceremony. My friend, Eliane, who is from Brazil and has no family here other than her kids is the one that called. Her son who is in the Marines and stationed in California brought his fiance up here from Brazil and they wanted to get married here in Texas before he had to be back to California and work. So it was a quick wedding and a small reception and I felt I should be there for her and her son. I took a few photos at the reception...

I invited Thiago, Ana, and Eliane to come out to the house Friday. Thiago loves coming out here and he had not seen our new property. They came out Friday evening and we took them down to the creek and then Thiago and Eliane rode Julie for a little bit. I really enjoyed getting to know Ana, she is so sweet and funny. I had her put Fred's snake boots on and we laughed and laughed at her outfit. There is a bit of a language barrier, as Ana speaks Portuguese but we managed just fine. She is going to stay in Victoria with Eliana and Bruno while Thiago gets a house ready in California. I invited her to come out to the house during her stay here so she can get out and about while everyone else is working. She wants to go fishing and I can't wait to take her and see her catch her first TEXAS fish, LOL...I did manage a few photos (even though it was getting dark) of our adventures down at the creek and property...

Thiago with his sexy wife and her borrowed snake boots, LOL!! Ana is one tough cookie, don't mess with HER!! (grin)

Yes folks a photo of me with Thiago, Ana, Michael and Ebony (the dog)...Eliane got the camera away from me....Ekkkk

~ MUD ~

My Husband called this morning and asked me to go run the pump on the swale hole and me being the loving caring wife that I am I said sure NO problem! I didn't want to go, I didn't want to leave the house today...I had planned on CLEANING house all day....and you know I should have listened to that little voice and just stayed HOME!!!
As I was watching the end of the hose to make sure it stayed under water I glanced back and there is Michael sitting in the MUD!! YES you heard me right he was SITTING in the MUD!!!
Now mind you we have no water down there....and here is my SON covered in MUD!! I stayed calm, didn't YELL, but I wanted to SCREAM!! I pulled him out, should have made him wait while I got the camera and took PHOTOS but he wasn't happy either....
I pulled him out and went to the truck...I had 3 water bottles half full of water....I looked at my CLEAN truck and thought okay I have enough water to wash off his MUDDY arm but then what....

I decided to put him in the bed of the truck, STRIP him of all clothing and boots...By this time most of the mud was dry and I put him in his car seat and took him home to the BATHTUB!!
Next time I'm going to listen to that little voice and just stay HOME!!
Oh I also called FRed and told HIM it's PIZZA night as he owes ME big TIME and I am not making DINNER tonight, LOL!!! I think I deserve a little compensation for having to deal with all the MUD!!

Tree Frogs and Cherry Tomato's

I went out this morning to get a photo of my over-grown cherry tomato plant and spotted two tree frogs trying to hide in the Mexican fire bush...
They just don't quiet blend in...

My cherry tomato plant has taken over the garden...I don't want to destroy it as it is still producing tomatos, which I LOVE but it's starting to take over the YARD!!

Praying Mantis vs. Hummingbirds

The Praying Mantis was still here this morning only this time she was on the Hummingbird feeder...needless to say the hummingbirds were having a fit....
Praying Mantis up on the feeder...

Stand off between hummingbird and Praying Mantis...The hummers were literally harassing the praying mantis trying to get her to move.

Praying Mantis gave up and went under the feeder and the hummers seemed okay with this...

Fishing Fun!

Michael didn't go to sleep until 3am last night and then he tossed and turned most of the night...seems his allergies are acting up! This morning I heard Fred get up and said UGH!! I was just to tired to move...So Fred took off and said he'd be back in a bit and I went back to sleep...At Noon Fred still wasn't back and Michael and I had been up for a few hours so I told Michael lets go fishing...We drove the tractor across the swale hole and a fishing we went!! I caught something every cast and even caught the HUGE Catfish that got away from me this past spring and yes he got away from me today too!!...sigh...Someday I'll bring that Gigantic Fish in...he broke my line today!! I took a few photos of the better ones I caught today. Michael didn't catch a thing, he was to busy playing with his shovel and the water, sigh!! His boots were full of water and I was laughing because you could hear them squishing when he walked...didn't seem to bother him.

This is one of several catfish I caught...2lbs and 18 inches. I have to tell you I HATE catfish and I hate catching them...Fred loves it and if he had been there he'd have been tickled...

Michael with the Bass I caught...not a very big one but he was fun as he hit the worm as I was reeling it in....I love watching Bass hit the bait...it's AWESOME!!

I saw this praying mantis hanging from the fence this morning close to one of the Hummingbird feeders...Not sure what she thought she was going to catch but I think they are so cool...She was startled by me and the camera but didn't fly away...

That was pretty much our day...Fred is watching the cowboys and Michael is quietly watching Tom and Jerry cartoons...I'm going to go settle down with a good book!
