I also turned the Copperhead loose this morning. I don't think it was injured as bad as I thought. It slithered off into the brush and hopefully it will recover and be okay. They eat mice who carry disease so snakes are a good thing!

Copperhead!!

 

I went to shut the chickens in and yes I had shoes on and a flashlight...I was swooping the ground with the flashlight and didn't see anything...Then when I came back around the house Lydia alerted me to this little darl'in on the front porch, sheesh!! I tried to get it in the trash can without hurting it but I don't have snake tongs and this copperhead was lively...I ended up using the shovel and garden rake and hurting it, but it's in the trash can and going for a ride tomorrow. I am sure the red-shouldered hawks at the property will enjoy it...food chain!!

That was pretty much our weekend in a nutshell...there is always something to do around here!

 

Newsflash!!! Michael and I have a trip in the works here in a couple of weeks! Somewhere he's dreamed about going for the past two years and it's finally going to happen! He's excited to be going and I'm excited to see his face when we arrive, it will be priceless!!

Dog kills Fawn

The people that own this dog in Goliad Texas. They moved out here approx. 3 years ago and just turned their dogs loose. They have 2 yellow labs and 1 black lab. I have seen these dogs chasing deer and now I caught one on camera with a dead fawn that it killed!!

 

 

 

PEN UP YOUR DOGS PEOPLE!!! This makes me sick!!!

Your dogs are not harmless they kill the native wildlife, you may not think they are doing it but they are!! This is proof!! Be responsible pet owners and keep your dogs penned up do NOT LET THEM RUN!!
