A few photos from Saturday afternoon...

 

Michael and I had a busy afternoon at the property...

 

 

 

We both spotted this Scissor-tail flycatcher on the garden fence. Love seeing them and so glad he was eating bugs out of the garden!!

 

 

 

I got Michael to stop and pose for me for a few seconds in the flowers!!

He's getting a bit old for flower photos but once in awhile he will make me happy!

 

 

The path to the creek needs to be mowed but I just couldn't do it...Not yet!

 

 

Michael had a fit because I wouldn't drive to the creek trail but I couldn't do it. We parked it and walked!

 

So pretty in the back pasture, I love it!!

 

 

He's working on building some muscles!

Always glad when he comes and helps me!

 

 

I've been watching this group of Red, White and Blue wildflowers on our drive home from the property for over a week. Today I decided I need to stop and get a photo! God Bless the U.S.A.

 

We spotted a Jack Rabbit rolling in the grass next to the driveway. He sat up and posed for me.

 

 

My boy picked me a bouquet of wildflowers, oh so pretty!

Driving home...

 

Friday I had a few errands in town and on my way home I stopped here and there for some photos! It is such a pretty drive right now...

 

 

The wind was whipping but the sun was out and the flowers were gorgeous!

 

90% of Texas is privately owned I won't trespass but I will take photos from the road here and there when I can...

Hummingbirds

 

The hummingbirds have been here for a couple of weeks. I haven't had a large swarm of them as I've had in years past and it may be due to all the wildflowers that came up this year. Yes we are still in a drought but with the little showers we have had here and there last November/December and this spring it has helped the wildflowers, which in turn has helped the hummingbirds...

 

 

This Berylline hummingbird doesn't seem to want wildflowers but an easy meal at the feeder....

I have noticed the Berylline's are a little more aggressive and they don't like to share!

 

 

I love their colors, love the color green!!

 

We also have Ruby-throat hummingbirds too and I am sure I'll get a photo of one soon!

Pale trumpets use to be known as Pale and or White flower Gilia, it is now in the Phlox family.

Garden...

 

I've been working hard and pretty much finished up my half of the garden today.

 

I took this photo this evening.

 

15 rows of potatoes, squash (Yellow and Zucchini), Green Peppers, Hot peppers, Tomatoes, Indian corn (for decorative purposes this fall), and Beans. I have one more row of seedlings to plant (Peppers and Tomatoes) but they aren't ready to transplant yet. The Other half of the garden is Fred's. He said something about watermelons and cantaloupes but he hasn't of yet planted anything...He's on his own as I've planted what I want and I am tired of doing the whole garden by myself. Most of what I put in I plan to can and preserve...I am thinking lots of Salsa this year, as what I made last year was pretty good!
