Michael colored Easter Eggs this afternoon!

Happy Easter to Y'all....

Oh and I want to say how much I love Texas and the schools here...When a Holiday is coming up they teach the children the different customs and the reason for the Holidays! I asked Michael if he knew why we celebrated Easter and he told me because Jesus has Risen! I asked him how he knew this and he said my teacher told me!! Sweet!! So it's not just about the Easter bunny and Easter Baskets!!

Kinder Easter Celebration

Michael's Kindergarten Easter party was today and it was a beautiful day!

Each of the children had to find 6 eggs with their name on them...I thought it was a neat idea and all the children got the same amount of eggs...it was tough finding the eggs and it took quiet awhile to find them too!

He's taking his egg hunting quest very serious!

He only found 4 of his eggs, ugh! Didn't make for a happy child! Then one of the other students found another one for him but we never did find the 6th egg...All was good though as his teacher had some extra eggs.

Misc. photos from the rest of my day...

Just before leaving the house today I glanced over at my red rose bush and saw the rose bud was opening up...I have been wanting to get photos of my first rose bloom of the year but the wind has been terrible...doesn't make for a clear crisp photo...I thought it's now or never, wind or no wind...

There is another bloom budding out so maybe in a few days I can try for a crisper photo but here is my first red rose bloom of the year...I wish I could put the scent on here as it smells delicious....use your imagination!! Ahhhhh....

Now for the gruesome, lol...We recently had a raccoon get hit in the road near our driveway...well the vultures have been picking at it...Sorry I couldn't resist a photo...

I then decided while I was in Goliad to take a few photos...
(another words play with my camera!) I've never shown y'all my home town...I love it here! I wasn't born here but got here as fast as I could, lol...

The Goliad Court House...(well the top of it anyways!)

Presidio La Bahia (Fort) was established at this location in 1749, with Mission Espíritu Santo (Chapel). It has been owned by the Catholic Church since 1853 and is currently operated by the Catholic Diocese of Victoria, Texas.

There is a lot of History in Goliad and if you would like to read more regarding La Bahia click here. ( I don't want to bore anyone, lol) I could read this stuff over and over again...always learning something new...

The entrance of Goliad State Park with Mission Espíritu Santo State Historic Site in the back ground...If you live here you learn the history and I love it!! Texan's fought for their freedom and independence and won when the odds were not in their favor...Which just goes to show you if you believe in something fight for it and don't give up!!

Back to the Past...

I just finished a Digital layout with Photos from December 16, 2007...Ekkk

Not too many more layouts and I'll be finished with 2007, lol...slowly but surely I am getting there....it's kind of fun to go back and see Michael though...he sure has grown!

Tanager

Wow, what a morning! Lots of wildlife! Maybe because we had a cold front come in and it's freezing outside...

On the way back from taking Michael to school I saw a Coyote traveling the dry creek bed in the driveway...We know we have Coyotes but you seldom see them. I saw this one the other night on the outside of the yard fence, so he's sulking around...Then a bit further up the driveway I looked down into the meadow on the edge of the brush and there were 23 deer standing down there...Yes I stopped and counted, lol....I bet you Mr. Coyote is following those deer waiting for the fawns to drop...I hope he high tails it out of here before the fawns come! I know nature has its way but I still like seeing the fawns...

I took Jake outside a little bit ago and heard a bird with a different song...as I walked slowly around the tree I saw the flash of red and thought cardinal but the song didn't fit a cardinal...So I walked out a bit and looked again and saw it was a Tanager...Sweet!! I went in and grabbed the camera, hoping he'd stay put and he did...The wind is awful and I was freezing but I managed a few photos before he moved...I am thinking he might be a Scarlet Tanager but I'm not sure and the photos are only of his bottom as he was in the very top of the tree...Soaking up the sunshine and trying to get warm...

The day has just begun so I can't wait to see what is in store for the rest of it and hopefully the camera will be nearby and ready to go....

A walk at the In-laws Ranch...

After spending Sunday morning working at our property we headed over to Grandpocka and Grandma's ranch on the San Antonio River...

I was given a time limit and hurriedly set off on a quick walk, lol...another words I went and got lost in the woods so no one could find me...

Michael and his Stick Horse..

We were headed over to Grandpa's ranch today and Michael wanted to take his stick horse. He had made it at his Kinder Rodeo...I hadn't got any photos of it yet so I suggested we do a photo shoot of him with his stick horse before we left...

Kinder Rodeo

A few weeks back Michael had a Kinder Rodeo at school.

They played games and made things and learned about Texas. This past Friday he brought me home this photo that they took that day...I thought it was adorable...

Wings over the Crossroads '09'

Our Saturday morning was spent at the

"Wings Over The Crossroads 2009" Airshow

at the Victoria Regional Airport.

Michael loves it! He loves being able to go inside the aircraft and he especially loves checking out the guns...

Here he is running over to the Bombers guns on the belly of the aircraft..."Wait for me Michael", NOT!

I was a bit disappointed at they only had one bomber this year...That is Michael's favorite as it has the most guns, LOL...

Me taking a photo out the window....too sweet! I wonder how many airmen who fought for our country and flew in these bombers looked out that same window...what were they thinking?

The pilot of the refueler did an excellent job of showing Michael how the aircraft works and Michael was listening intently (for once)...

This aircraft above is used for training.

Michael had a great time and ran from aircraft to aircraft. His main interest is bombs and missiles and I love hearing the pilots tell stories and of course taking photos. I think this Airshow is becoming a yearly tradition with us and I managed to pick up some info on the Civil Air Patrol. I am hoping when Michael is 12 he'll want to join...we shall see!
