Vacation ~ Day #2 Con't ~ June 22 2010

Later on Day 2 of our vacation we were getting close to our destination, well kind of sort of...

For the first time in my life I was entering Mountain Time Zone, WooHoo!

And not too much later New Mexico!

Like 500 ft, LOL...

An Extinct Volcano!

An old homestead....I have a fascination for old homesteads. I always think when seeing one that at one time that was a new house and someone was very excited to be moving into it...Now it's a crumbling piece of history. What were the people like, what did it look like right after it was built...If only the walls could talk!

Yep Wendy threw a fit this evening and I finally got my Internet!! I was NOT very happy with the hotel but they finally came through, thank you!

I'm also very tired as we did a lot today and had a GREAT time but I had to post some photos I am soo far behind...

The photos from today were mostly taken through the windows of the truck so the quality isn't too great but you are seeing what our day 2 of vacation was like...a lot of time on the road!

Yikes...

We are still here and are having a GREAT time. Met some wonderful, sweet, beautiful people. Still going but I do not have internet access, sigh! Hopefully later tonight I will. Be patient. I have so many photos to share and can't wait to show you where we've been....

We are having a wonderful vacation and had a great adventure today with friends! I took lots of photos too...

I feel bad so I'm going to give you a hint as to where we are at, at the moment...How about the mile high city!

Vacation ~ Day #2 Morning ~ June 22 2010

We woke up early and got ready to hit the road...We are in the Texas PanHandle.

But first I had to get some photos of Michael with the Hereford statue out in front of our Hotel, lol...

Good thing she's not real! Hate to see what would happen if she was, could be a bit messy!

I could just picture her horning him, ekk...

We were only 40 miles from Amarillo and had to make a side trip over there....Love that Discount Tire Co is just about everywhere. After about an hour and a half there we were on the road again!

Oh cool a crop duster, I could sit and watch them all day!

Vacation ~ Day #1 ~ June 21 2010

We started out at 7am and by the time we reached San Antonio this was our first stop....sigh!

Someone needed to take a pit stop, ewww! No names mentioned but if you know us you know who it was!

Ahh how about 87 N. and we were off on our adventure and vacation!

Wind generators...sheesh they are all over Texas and guess what?

I love them...uh oh...you know what that means!!

As we headed down 385 towards our destination for the night we saw this, ekkkk....Beautiful but Scary!

We decided to call it a night and stayed in Hereford TX for the night!

I don't think Michael cares where we are as long as there is a pool at the end of the day :o)

I also watched a beautiful lightening show out our hotel window but I wasn't brave enough to go outside and try for photos, it was wicked!

I'll tell you one thing I was in AWE at what I saw today, sheesh! Absolutely gorgeous...Can't wait for tomorrow!!

ON VACATION!!

It was touch and go for a bit as the lady that was to take care of the house and animals had a wee bit of a problem...rattle snake bite! Keep her in your prayers as she recovers...But thankfully I managed to find someone else and we are on the road starting tomorrow....
