Playing around...

Michael and Fred didn't like it but I thought it was cute...I can see I need to play around a bit more but in due time I'll get this figured out!!

The boys didn't know it but I've had a doe coming to the back yard gate and eating melons that I toss out to her...She's really rather tame and every time I put a melon or veggie on the otherside of the back gate she comes running...Fred saw her this morning and said hey look at this doe...I started laughing and said she's waiting for her breakfast. I then explained to Fred what I had been doing. I cut up a melon and took it outside to her and Fred was in shock. I've never tried for a photo because she is rather shy and if I don't turn and come back towards the backdoor she leaves rather quickly. Today I asked Fred on his way home from town to pick up some sweet corn from one of our local farmers.

I was on the back porch cleaning it and threw the tip of a cob over the fence and there stood the doe, I was laughing. She is no fool and loves the free offerings. She even chases the chickens away too. I always looked for her after she's eaten and never saw her. I couldn't understand how she got to the back gate so quickly, so after throwing her plenty of pieces of sweet corn I went back out with the camera...I saw her lying down just on the edge of the pasture, chewing her cud and watching the house...She's definitely no fool...

This evening...

Your son is on a Monopoly kick and you play for hours and hours and hours...

You get out the Macro lens and starting taking photos, lol...

Michael is a big goober and always manages to get Boardwalk and Park Place and then tries his best to wipe me out...what he doesn't know is that when I land on there I tell him "Oh sheesh I can't pay the rent, I don't have the money"...End of game, yeah!!

What have I done...

I know I've been slacking off on my blog and actually on taking photos all together. I decided for summer break to cut Michael down to 3 hours of electronics a day or else he'd be on the computer, Tv and Video games all day. Well I didn't realize that I was going to be his one and only source of entertainment!! I have a list of crafty ideas we are working on, board games to play, swimming in the pool, reading comprehension and math worksheets but he doesn't give me a moments rest or time to pick up the camera either, sigh...I miss it :o) But I do enjoy spending one on one time with Michael. By evening though his constant chatter does get to be a bit too much, ekk! I've noticed in the mornings now instead of him getting up at 7am he sleeps until 9 and that gives me a little bit of me time before our day begins, thank goodness. This morning I was determined to get a photo of something...

I tried for a photo of the last batch of baby chicks. They are in a continous state of motion and it wasn't easy. Michael is upset because he can no longer catch them. Yesterday he asked me to put them in a cage and move them into the house so he can pick them up! Ha! NOT happening. They are outside and with their Mother and perfectly happy!

With the temps getting up to 109 the past few days it seems mornings are the only time for photo opportunities, otherwise it's just too HOT!!
