Michael came down with a stomach bug last night. It wasn't pretty! Today he's been laying around the house resting and vomiting, fun, fun, fun. Tonight when Daddy got home Michael grabbed a book and cuddled in Daddy's lap. I couldn't resist a photo of the two of them!

Love...Me with Michael

~

While we were at Hemisphere park in San Antonio Mom took the camera away from me and got this great photo of me with Michael. He’s my Buddy and I sure do love him. We don’t have many photos together but the ones we do have are precious. Thanks Mom!

I love Quick Pages sometimes...it is so nice to just insert a photo, write some journaling and call it good! I found this QP tonight on my internet travels and it immediately gave me some ideas...isn't it gorgeous?
Sally over at Sally's Angel works created this QP and I loved it. She has a really nice blog (not just scrapbooking either) and if you'd like to check it out click here... She's very creative!
Thank you Sally!

Mom and I were discussing tonight how Scrapbooking to us is about the Story behind the photos...Who? What? Where? When? 15 Years from now I want to look at my layouts or have other people look at them and understand why I took the photos and what was the story behind them.
Ali Edwards has got some great tutorials up on her blog and today she even offered a free template...I loved it and had to give it a try!
Thank you Ali for some great inspiration :o) If you would like to see her work and her awesome blog and tutorials click here...

Our Evening...

~

The Journaling reads:
January 20 2009 – I was having camera withdrawals this evening and decided to head out into the pasture to see what I could find nature wise. I didn’t mention this to either Michael or Grandma and just walked out of the house. I actually didn’t know I needed permission to walk out into the pasture? I wasn’t too far from the house and I could hear them. First Mom yelling at one of the animals and then Michael was yelling for me. I ignored both of them and continued to walk around, watching and listening. I saw several birds, one wildflower and a dozen or more deer. None of those photos turned out, ugh! It was starting to get dark so I headed back towards the house. As I get near the yard gate here comes Michael from down towards Kirby’s (the landlords) house with a broom in his hands. I started snapping away with the camera. I knew the broom was Burt (rooster) protection but I didn’t know why Michael was walking by himself out in the pasture. He was too cute! His story was; he went down to Kirby’s, as him and grandma thought I’d taken eggs down there, NOT! He said he knocked on Kirby’s door but Kirby didn’t hear him, so he looked in the window, Argh!! Saw Kirby watching TV and I wasn’t there so he came back home! Sheesh, my little peeping Tom with his Burt protection! Never a dull moment in our household.

February Desktop

PickleBerryPop.com is giving away this kit to make a February Desktop...I thought it was cute...I added the calander...It's a cute kit & it's free!

And the rest of the S.A. Photos...

Okay I'm a day late...
but here are the rest of the photos from our trip to San Antonio...
We were on the ground floor at the Resort and this was our view off our back deck....I took them in the morning and it was not very light out as of yet...

And a view of the front....

And a view of Michael posing early in the morning...too darn Early!

This was one of many waterfalls at Hemisphere park....

And a gorgeous view of Downtown San Antonio from the Tower of Americas....we had some great weather!

Hwy 37 looking South...a little hazy but compared to the last 2 days (foggy and misty in the A.M.) beautiful...

Inside the top of the Tower of Americas they had murals and lots of history...The flag above is Goliad's flag and information on Santa Anna and his battle campaign with Goliad. He was ruthless...you can click on the photo to see a larger version to read it.

Michael checking out the view...I was a little nervous as Michael seems to be afraid of heights but he was fine, Yea Michael! Wanting to be a Jet Pilot, I hope he out grows his fear...

This was after he was told NOT to play in the water and if he fell in we were not going in after him, sigh!! As you can see he did NOT listen!! Thank goodness he didn't fall in!

The water falls at Hemisphere park.

A view of part of Hemisphere park from above and if you look closely one lone mallard duck, lol....

Grammy and Michael checking out the waterfalls...

He was so happy and just loving all the water!

Mom and I can't remember what this was...possibly a Catholic church?

Michael sitting on a wall that was built on the old foundation of part of the Alamo's fort that sits next to the Downtown Visitors Center...He wanted to pose for me, lol...I don't think he knew what he was sitting on?

Some people were feeding the pigeons (rock doves) & Grackles and Michael was fascinated with them...he actually wanted to grab one but I told him that wouldn't be a good idea! He couldn't believe how close they were letting him get...once again Country boy in the City, lol.

Another pose for me at the River Center Mall.

River Center Mall....

River Center Mall looking back towards the Riverwalk....

River Center Mall and the Island in the middle....

The red building in the back with the Tower is the Bexar County Courthouse...The gray building to the right used to be the Library.

Faces on the sides of a building to ward off evil spirits!

A closer view of the tower on the Bexar County Courthouse...Texas has some of the most beautiful courthouses I have ever seen...

The American Flag, Texas Flag and I'm not sure what the third one is... Flying over a building....Beautiful!

A Hospital...

The same Hospital but a different view...They even had a bar on the bottom level...

A part of the Riverwalk...

A mural made up of 1 inch tiles brought from Mexico...Lots of detail!

Church Spire and If I remember I think they said this was a German Lutheran Church near the Alamo...but don't quote me on that, lol...I was trying to listen to the guide but I was also busy taking photos :o)
~
That was pretty much our day in photos...We went to Hemisphere park, toured the Tower of Americas, walked the river-walk, and went on a boat tour too...Michael had his moments but did fairly well and Mom and I both got our exercise. I'm just glad the weather cooperated and it was cool and beautiful out. Thanks for sharing our little trip with us!

A few from today...

I'm really, really tired and have a lot of photos from today but just don't have the energy to post them at the moment...I'm going to post a few to keep you entertained until we get home. Fred is due to head out of town and we have to get home to take care of the animals...But I am so thankful we were able to get away for a few days and really enjoyed it...I think we all did...(also I want to note: please excuse any misspelled words, like I said I'm tired :o)
~
Today we went to Towers of America, Hemisphere park, and the river walk...it was a loooooong day! Plus Michael and I of course went swimming too...

Okay so I've been in Texas 10 yrs + and to San Antonio so many times I've lost count but I have never been to the Towers of America or to Hemisphere park...it was sooo cool!! The Tower is over 700 ft tall, I forgot the exact height but it was a good ways up there and I loved it. Beautiful view and today it was fairly clear too...Yeah!

Alamo Dome from above!!

I had a blast at Hemisphere park and taking photos of Michael and Grammy...it was a beautiful day for photos!

Grammy even managed one of Me and Michael!

Mom (Grammy)...

Then we headed over to the river walk...I like to go to the visitor center and check things out and we walked by the Alamo. We've been in numerous times and decided to skip it today...(Michael wasn't being very patient today either, so it was NOT a good day for a history lesson, sigh!)

We did take a boat tour of the river walk...actually Mom hadn't been before and Michael was up for a boat ride...I did manage some pretty cool photos on our ride...
and the rest of the photos, I hope, will be up tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by!

Michael has gotten in the habit of waking me up at 3:30 am and I need to get to sleep...I just love my boy!!
Tomorrow we head home :o) and I miss my Jakers!!
