The Twins

YES!! I finally captured the little darl'ins with my camera!!
We've been watching them all summer but I just hadn't been able to capture their photo...Tonight a skunk spooked them and they ran up to the house...very quietly I snuck out with the camera and got a photo before they ran into the brush...I just love seeing the fawns!
Aren't they just too sweet!!

It amazes me how small they are and how thin their legs and bodies are...sheesh! So delicate!

The Does were on the other side of the pasture and really too far for me to get a decent photo! Love having the pasture shredded as I can actually see what is out there...Momma Doe was watching her twins as they had gone in the opposite direction but I am sure they were reunited later...
I've been outside watching a huge storm to the West. Not sure if it is going to make it this far, we sure could use more rain...and I wouldn't mind a few more lightening photos...I need the practice, lol...
Have a good night and sweet dreams!

Weds & Thurs. Beautiful Evidence Layouts...

I took time this afternoon to complete lessons 3 and 4 and I like the results. I'm really excited about this album I am creating...it's going to be great!
~
We did a page on the 5 senses...
It took some thought on my part as to what is really my favorites.
Smell:
This summer I decided to try some cocoa butter lotion and I love it...and it smells Mmmm so good...makes your skin ohh so soft to and it's not greasy...gotta love it!
~
Sight:
I love seeing Michael and Fred together and having a good time, it makes my heart happy!
~
Taste:
Fred brought me some Ice Cream in June...Dang it was good...Not something I am supposed to eat (thanks honey!) but I couldn't help myself...Blue Bells strawberries and homemade vanilla..Mmmm Mmmm good!!
~
Sound:
Michaels laughter...you just can't help but smile when you hear him...he has his giggle, then he has what I call his woody wood pecker laugh, just too funny!!
~
Feel:
I love the feeling of our sleep number bed at night...it's oh so comfy! I can't wait to climb in it and always let out a big sigh of relief as I lay back...
~
Next on the assignments was "I create"....what do you love to create and why was my take on the class and below is the page I created!
Thanks for stopping by and I sure hope you enjoyed yourselves!
Have a great weekend, Yea tomorrow is FRIDAY!!
We get a 2 day break from Marine boot camp, lol...Michael is so looking forward to it!!

Our day...

Michael is doing really well with school. He told me this morning "I don't want to go to school but I want to go to my class" lol...I didn't quiet understand that statement, I think he was still asleep actually (grin)!
He's kind of slow in the mornings, actually really slow and driving me crazy so we've gone back to an earlier bedtime to see if that helps. He's not happy about that but at lights off he falls right to sleep. I'm loving that as the past month it's been a fight to get him to sleep at night. He doesn't have naptime at school and I think he is exhausted! I'm exhausted and I'm not even going to school, lol.
Today I trimmed trees along the driveway. I was so tired of having to weave around tree branches. It looks beautiful now, a straight shot down the driveway. I used Fred's chainsaw (it's bigger than mine) and sheesh I didn't realize how heavy that thing is...My arms and shoulders are killing me. I was so thankful when I finally managed to get to the last tree, whew! I wasn't sure I was going to make it but I didn't quit. Then I shredded around the house and out in the pasture. I didn't finish but hope to be able to do some more tomorrow...
Michael had homework today. I was not looking forward to this. Last year I had to nag and fight to get him to do it. This afternoon he sat at his little table and did it. I was shocked as I thought we were going to have problems but he knew he had to do it...and he did a great job too. It looked very nice and neat, Yea! He really likes his teacher and I think he enjoys trying to please her, that makes my heart so happy! I think we are off to a good start this year and I am excited for us!
This evening I was hearing thunder and was really hoping we'd get some rain...It did rain, just NOT here, lol. I could see beautiful Gold light peeking in through the blinds and went outside to see a beautiful sky...Storm and Sunset...So I grabbed my camera and drove out to the main road for an unobstructed (no electric line or trees) photo!!
It was gorgeous and you could see the rain, which I love to see!!

Hopefully next time it will not pass us by!!

1st grade is a GO!

No photos to share but Michael's first day was GREAT! Far-away Grammie asked if he wanted to go back and he said "YES"...
He's tired but that is to be expected but if you ask he'll tell you he isn't tired, LOL...Hmm wonder what the dark circles under the eyes mean...
I give him 2 weeks and he's not going to like it as much...wait until the homework and spelling test start up!!
He got home from school, we went through the notes in his backpack and he stripped and turned the tv on and he's been there ever since with a dinner and snack break thrown in for good measure!!
Now we are soon off to bed as I am whipped...5:30am comes too darn early...(YAWN!)
Tomorrow I hope to start shredding and trimming trees, Yippee!

And we are off....

Michael's first day of 1st Grade!
~
He told me yesterday he wanted waffles for breakfast before school so I cooked up some waffles and put them in the freezer to pop in the toaster...But this morning he changed his mind and just wanted a granola bar, sigh!!
~
The morning started a bit slow as he was not used to getting up at 6am and he was dragging...He finally got dressed and sat down for breakfast...I was running around doing my morning chores and getting things ready to go when he said Uh OH!! I couldn't believe it...He spilled his Orange juice all down the front of himself, sigh!! He did the same thing on the first day of school last year...Sheesh...Guess this will be a yearly event????

Before the orange juice got spilled...We have a smile "Houston" things are a "Go!"

The traditional first day of school photo, lol...cheesy grin and all!!

Come on MOM, LETS GO!! Sheesh!

Love that smile!! It's genuine!

Loading up in Mom's Taxi!
(I was doing some figures earlier do you know I will put approx. 1575 miles on my truck driving him to school this year, Yikes!)
He was really excited by the time we got in the truck and chattered all the way to school! He saw a lot of the teachers he knew first thing and was just tickled...It was a Zoo! Parents, Teachers, students running here and there, Ekkk....Didn't phase Michael a bit, he was grinning from ear to ear...We did our normal school routine...I walked him to the cafeteria and gave him his goodbye kiss and hug and he was off for another year and more adventures!! YEA!!
~
Makes my heart happy to see my boy growing up and maturing!
~
As for me I did fine...Gave my son to God to watch over and I know he'll be just fine!!
I went over to the Gym and did 3 miles on the treadmill...It's been almost 2 months since I had been and it seemed to take forever for me to do 3 miles...Decided to take it easy so 3 miles is all I did today. Ran a few errands in town and now I am back home staring at my to do list, sigh!! I accomplished a few things and I'm going to relax for the rest of the day.
~
I can't wait to see how Michael liked it. I think the not knowing how things are going is what kills me the most, sigh...Hmmm I think that would be called not having much patience, LOL...
~
For most of my friends I know this is also your first day of school for y'all and I would love to hear how you and your child/children did this morning and today...Leave me a comment!!
Big Hugs!

What my Mother loves...

I requested some photos and my sister, Karen, sent me these...My Mother is always talking about what she loves and that is gardening at the Waterford Historical Society. I wanted to add a page to my scrapbooks and this is what I came up with...Thank you Karen for the photos!!

Michael's love of Machinery...

Our boy loves Machinery...the bigger, louder the better!!
We went over to visit with Grandpa for a bit and Michael talked Daddy into starting up the Bobcat and going for a ride...
First he posed for me, sheesh...What a HAM!!

Strutting his stuff...Lord help us!!

He takes driving the Bobcat very seriously...He told me later he pretends he is flying a fighter Jet, LMBO...(notice Fred is trying not to laugh)

Once again the Many Faces of Michael!

On the second round Michael told Daddy he wished he had a pair of gloves, hint-hint...So Daddy handed over his gloves!

I am thinking he was pretending to shoot down enemy planes at this point...He's just too funny!!
Now you can see why I didn't get too many bird photos...I was having too much fun getting photos of Michael and laughing!
I'm pretty sure Michael enjoyed spending time with his Dad this weekend...They even managed to go see the movie G-Force and give me 4 hours of peace and tranquilty...beautiful!

My weekend in Birds!

I saw quiet a few birds this weekend but I didn't get too may photos...Here is what I did get.
~
As were were leaving the house Sunday morning I spotted these Black Vultures on a gate topper down the road...
Something Pleasant to come home too...Ekkk

They were congregated for a feast on a wild hog that was hit in the road...A purpose for everything!

Dad's Roosters...he never did put the two we gave him in the stew pot! They're beautiful!

A young Cardinal was checking me out...

He/She was quiet comical...

I think I am going to become a Pro photographer of roosters, LOL...
I have also seen Mississippi Kites, Hummingbirds, Fly Catchers, Warblers and Lesser Gold Finches...I took photos but most didn't turn out, blurry, lighting off, Little boy running around making noise, etc...There is always next weekend!
