She's got....

CATTITUDE!!

Just because...

I was bored and picked up the camera...

This is my Rosey girl. We lost Michael's cockatiel (Tank) a while back so this means I need to spend more time with Rosey. Tonight I brought up You Tube and played videos of other Cockatiels singing. She hisses if she doesn't like the Cockatiel in the video and I change it to a different one...Anything to keep Rosey happy!

Jenny was bugging me, as usual. I threw a towel on her head hoping she'd calm down...Did it work?? Nope!!

Aransas National Wildlife Refuge

This past Tuesday I took a little trip over to ANWR and met some friends. It was a wee bit chilly in the morning but turned into a beautiful day. It's really hard for me to share just one or two photos so here are a few of my favorites!

Mockingbird

Lots of birds on the coastal marshes...

In memory of my friend John, he loved the coast and the shrimp boats! I miss him!

The canal waters were so calm in the morning

Grebe

Warbler

This Turkey vulture who was warming himself up in the morning sun had me laughing. He looks like he is about ready to get hit with a death ray gun! Or perhaps it's a giant hair dryer and he's really getting warm??

Bag worm

Pelicans, Tanker and gas well platform...typical coastal picture!

White Pelicans

Sploosh and he has landed Houston!

Dagger Point.
A long time ago there use to be a house out there, way off the point before it eroded away.

Osprey

Seed puff with the Macro

Pintails

Finding a crab

Investigating the crab

Crab in hand...

On the observation deck looking out over the top of the tree canopy!

There are whooping cranes out there...way way out there!

We did finally see some young gators

My day in photos...

I decided to go outside and enjoy the sunshine before the clouds moved in. I thought a walk with the camera and maybe I'd see some birds...

Lydia decided to join me, sigh!

With the cat along wildlife wasn't going to be in abundance but I did find an Oak tree that had died and fallen to the ground and it had some pretty neat critters and fungus on it and in it!

She was exploring a tree and the surrounding area!

I did manage to see a few birds, Yellow-rumped Warbler.

Blue-headed Vireo

Interesting fungi

Later in the afternoon I dragged Michael down to the property with me...

Being naughty and playing with something he shouldn't be...

Ugh what a mess...Michael and I got half the garden fence down last fall but we need to get the rest down so Fred can disc up the garden. Almost time to start that again!

Theatrics...he is NOT happy! He wants me to come down, stop taking photos and go home!!

I got down but went to flip the wooden crates to see what I could find and OH BOY!! I got a surprise and was so flustered I was only able to get a butt photo of the skunk as it ran off. I guess that was better than getting sprayed! Michael was laughing and said I looked like one of the 3 stooges when I flipped the crate and had a skunk pop up next to me!! I can move when I need too and I don't care if I look graceful or not! I am just glad the skunk decided to run instead of stay and fight!

We found a Black widow too and then I had to listen to Michael once again...He kept telling me he didn't want to take me to the ER for a black widow bite...Sheesh, I guess my son just doesn't have enough confidence that I know what the heck I am doing, LOL...

On the way home Michael had my camera and spotted this Crested Cara Cara. I stopped and he took 20 photos, maybe more but he did manage one decent one...Cool and great job!

I wish Michael would pick up a camera more often!! I think he's got it in him to be a good photographer if he just practices more!!
We had a good day and enjoyed the nice weather!!

Hope y'all had a great weekend and have an awesome start to your week!!

Lesson learned...

I found out this evening that back in March a reporter for a local paper stole one of my photos on here and used it for an article he had written. He did credit my first name, Wendy and the blog but did not get permission for it's use.
I was slightly upset but what upset me is that he lied to his editor and said he got permission from the Goliad chamber for the use of the photo. How and why could the Goliad chamber give permission for the use of a private photo that they do not own the rights too??
Anyways the paper was made aware of the error and I told them to put my last name on the photo credits and leave the photo posted.
I chalk it up to lesson learned and have now made some changes to my blog so hopefully that will not happen again.
I honestly don't mind sharing my photos if it is for private use, such as a wallpaper on a computer or laptop but to use it to gain money is not right!!
Sorry for the changes people but I ask that you do NOT save my photos or print them out unless you ask permission from me and only me!!

And if there is a photo you like and you do ask permission and the money is right I might even send you the original in print quality size!!

Best regards, Wendy!!
