WOW!! What a day...it started with us getting up late, 10am...I had told Fred last night that Texas Parks and Wildlife was putting on a Free Expo in Austin this weekend. I thought maybe we could go on Sunday. He didn't seem interested and that was that...Well this morning Fred had left to go get the paper and I was getting ready to make breakfast when Fred called and asked if I wanted to go to the TPWD Expo and I said yes but it was a bit late...He said lets go anyways...So he came back to the house and I hurried up and got ready...We made it to the Expo at about 1pm and had 4 hrs to check everything out...there was no way to see everything but we did the best we could....I finally got to see a Birds of Prey show and was so excited with all the photos I got...lol...over 200 photos, ekkk!! I got it down to 78 for the whole day....below is a link if you'd like to see where we went...
There was just so much to do and see...lots of vendors too to check out!! Next year I think we'll go back and possibly spend the weekend and go both days....I was excited as I got to talk to a Kayak vendor and he was very informative and gave me some literature to check out on the type of Kayak I would want....I so want a Kayak or canoe!! We talked to some other vendors about what types of legume we needed to plant on the property for the wildlife, cows and horses. Michael got to play in some tanks of saltwater with sea urchins, crabs, sponges and welks. He also got to touch stingrays. He was able to look at models of sharks and fish. Michael got to see a very large snapping turtle and even some rattle snakes...and that was just the part we got to see...can't wait until next year and maybe we can see the whole Expo.

American Bald Eagle

Red tailed Hawk

Great Horned Owl

Harris Hawk
Perigon Falcon after catching prey (piece of meat).

We waited in line for 30 minutes so Michael could sit in the Helicopter. It was worth the wait and Michael was just in awe of sitting there...He loves Helicopters and I couldn't tell you how many toy helicopters he has, to many!!

I love this photo as I can just see the mischief in
Michaels eyes as to what buttons he could press! I think this was the highlight of
Michaels day!!
