We went over to my in-laws ranch today and Grandpocka had a baby Barbado lamb. It was 3 days old and it's Mother had abandoned him.

I had Michael sit on the ground and hold the little lamb. (wrong thing to do)
He fell in love, especially when the lamb curled up on his lap and went to sleep.Grandpocka kept telling me to take it home and I kept saying NO, NO, NO. I've raised calves and an assortment of farm animals before and it is not easy. There is also no guarantee that this little guy will make it...
Then Grammy started in about how cute it was and that we needed to take it home...
Then Michael started in that he wanted to bring it home, ugh!!
I am such a sucker....as we now have a baby lamb in our family...sigh!!
He hadn't eaten for 3 days and I'm honestly not sure if he is going to make it or not. He didn't want to eat tonight but he did eat about 4 to 6 oz's of milk replacer today...So hopefully his little belly is still full and he's just not hungry. Michael is taking raising this lamb very seriously and helping me at every moment...and yes I explained to him that the little one may not make it and sometimes it happens and there is nothing we can do...He's in Gods hands!I also told Grandpocka if it makes it as soon as it is eating grass/hay and grain it's going back to the ranch!!
