Wild Goose Chase

My husband is so good to me! This morning I sat outside and watched a flock of wild geese fly over. This is their migratory route and I’ve always wanted to see fields and fields of them feeding but have never been able to. After I told him I saw a flock of over a hundred fly over, he asked me “do you want to go see where they feed”! Without a doubt “I Do”, so we took off on a Wild Goose Chase. Fred headed North and we drove towards the rice fields near El Campo. Upon our arrival we saw plenty of farmers out in the fields working but no geese. It is still a bit early in the season. I did manage to take a few photos on our 197 mile road trip but alas our Wild Goose Chase was a bust. Maybe in a few weeks we’ll go again and I can hardly wait. I still enjoyed going through the farming communities. Farming is in my blood and I miss seeing the fields of freshly turned earth. I’m so glad Fred agreed on our little road trip today, I enjoyed it. I’ve been feeling my traveling itch and I know he is trying his best to appease it as we just don’t have the funds right now for a big trip. It was a beautiful day and a great road trip!

A map of our route...A giant circle.

Grain Dryer and storage silo near Garwood TX.

Arriving in Eagle lake.
Those are huge dryers and storage silos for rice.

A sign I saw and thought was neat.

We followed him into Eagle Lake...I love this photo. You can tell when your in a farming community!

Colorado River with Railroad bridge in foreground. Fred was driving and if any of you know him he doesn't stop, grr...So all these photos were taken from the truck :o)

Hwy 90 coming out of Eagle Lake heading West.

I had this great idea for a layout so I set here tonight and worked on it...a memory of our road trip and Wild Goose Chase!
